Thielen traded

He lined up the offense a lot and helped call out protections based on looking at tape.

Our third year QB should be doing that now. Sure there will be growing pains but how are the young guys supposed to get better if their dad keeps doing all the work for them.

Cam had no issues lining up the offense or with protections by his third year, it’s time to let Bryce leave the nest and see what he’s got in regards to commanding the offense.

Something changed in between when he signed the deal for this year and the present.  I don't think it's a huge leap of faith to say he's not particularly excited about this season for the Panthers.

thats the simplest answer especially since there was a rumor he was working out with JJ mccarthy and crew

He had the "I didnt sign up for this" moment before and you have to think he can tell a difference between a good team and bad team all things considered.

Just think its shitty after we gave him a hefty raise

Meh, i have always been indifferent on the trade if it happened, we got good compensation for a 35 year old possession savvy type WR. Glad we didn't have to eat any of it.

I highly doubt we will regret it. If Bryce still looks bad, AT wasn't gonna change that. Sorry. Good luck to the man in MIN, he was likely gonna sign there after this year to retire or something like that anyways.

No good deed goes unpunished.  We should have let him retire.  We lose out on the pick but we would have had some extra spending money in the offseason.

If Thielen is the link to Bryce Young’s success like some of y’all seem to think then we are fuged.

But in reality Jalen Coker put up a 7 for 7 for 62 in the last game of the season and showed he can be a volume target.

We also just opened up a ton of slot snaps and for those that are unaware, yes, McMillan has played the slot and is a matchup nightmare there.

Then you factor in that we got compensation for a guy who is at the end of his career, has an injury history, and and may not even be in the league next year… I fail to see where the issue is even if the fourth round pick is in 2027.

My thought exactly. We basically got a 4th for a one year rental when we aren’t a playoff contender. If we can’t overcome the loss with the young guys then we have big issues. We’ve invested 4 1sts (3 top 10), 2 2nds, DJ Moore into $150M in OL FAs into this passing game. That’s 90% of our draft and FA capital into Young. We damn well better be fine without AT or we are ways away from competing.

They are really, really high on Horn Jr. They spent a draft pick on him to be a returner/slot wr.

I hope he pans out I just didn't see anything out of him during preseason and it seemed like all the talk about him looking good on camp pretty much evaporated once the pads went on.

He should be, but I said this in his predraft and why i didn't want to draft him.

Can't read defenses well and set line up for success, eats a lot of unnecessary sacks and pressures due to that and holding the ball too long and moving in the pocket towards the edges instead of up into the pocket.

Then you don’t trade him. Trades don’t have to happen.

this feels like a hit of dopamine for the people who think we care about reading their mock draft and BIG BOARD but come draft night it will be another player you’ve never heard of whose competing for a depth spot.

Our last two 4th round picks:

JT Sanders

Lathan Ransom

Not too shabby for a rebuilding team.

Person (so take it with a grain of salt) claimed AT was already being phased out of the offense based on camp.

Hard to interpret something that way (even if it is accurate). Thielen knows the playbook and probably doesn't need as many reps, as say the rest of our receives who are rookies (Tet, Horn), 2nd/3rd year (XL, Coker, Tremayne), or were possible cut candidates (Renfrow, Moore).

I probably wouldn't have focused as much on Thielen also when they needed a lot of info on all of the other receivers

    • Idk man, I think it’s necessary.  There’s people working 9-5s everyday that get told poo about what they aren’t and what they’re not capable of and they’re working for scraps.  These guys are making millions.  People are watching and invested because their team and fandom is a part of their identity and a big source of pride.  When someone like Bryce comes in and is given chance after chance after chance after proving he is not worthy of the position he’s being gifted, and he continues to be the biggest reason above any that we are losing, yeah…  I think it’s fair to call a spade a spade.  Am I saying Bryce the person is trash?  Bryce the person is a piece of poo?  Absolutely not.     I came up in an era, especially in basketball, where if you were fuging up people heckled the poo out of you.  I played in rec leagues as a teen where the fuging parents were calling kids trash and yelling poo like “TURNOVER!!!  TURNOVER!!!”  “CANT DRIBBLE!”  “CANT SHOOT!”  And that’s adults screaming that poo to kids like we were in the fuging Rucker lol.🤣🤣🤣  I went on to play basketball at a collegiate level and with professional players in different settings.  What those experiences as a kid taught me was to see if there is any merit to what people are saying, and if there is, then work my ass off til they can’t say that anymore.  Come back better, tougher, harder.  And I did.  If kids can figure that poo out, an adult calling another adult who is bad at his job while making millions and millions of dollars will be just fine.
    • I have tried to like this team, lord knows I have tried. BY9 is a nice young man, if I had a daughter he can take her to prom, but he ain't QB1 and he's not Cam or Delhomme Chuba is a average RB, he isn't Stephen Davis, he isn't J-Stew McMillan has the makings of a good WR, but he isn't 89/Moose D. Brown is a great player, but if the game was on the line I want Kris Jenkins       I miss this brand of football, even in the bad Jake games the games were entertaining It has been nearly 8 years now of watching numb football
