Remember everyone felt they were overly conservative last year and then Dalton came in and threw for 300+ yards?

Yeah their unwillingness to bring in a playable #2 or have meaningful competition is a bigger issue than being conservative IMO. That's just the only game their QB can do and has any chance of positives.

I don’t hate him, but are you watching the game?

how do we “open up” the offense for a guy who cost us 7 points on the first drive, and then blew the chance to take the lead on the next drive because he threw a pick straight into a defender’s chest?  There’s no magic play to fix that.

Hey Bryce is consistent in how he starts the year. 3 years running now?

Example of last night

The South Carolina Gamecocks' game against SC State on September 6, 2025, was delayed by more than two hours due to lightning in the area. The kickoff was pushed from its original 7 p.m. ET start to 9:21 p.m. ET.

Arizona's game was also delayed 2 some hours last night as well

Now this

Apparently I must have pissed of Thor this week, sorry Greg

So... definitely some things that need to be cleaned up but also some positives.

Bad

  • Bryce has had more bad plays than good. While he did a good job getting Dowdle lined up on the 3rd down conversion he has also underthrown Renfrow, missed TMac wide left, and then didn't see the DB in the area on the pick. Going to need a lot better than that for the team to not go looking for his replacement next year.
  • LBs are looking extra rough. Rozeboom has bounced off of tackles and Wallace seems to be out of position more often than not. There ain't much talent behind them either.
  • Pressure is coming from coverage creating second chances rather than guys winning on their first step still.

Good

  • The run game is looking really good even without Icky.
  • Wharton and Moehrig, the two big defensive signings, are leading the team in tackles at the delay. Both seem to just find their way to the ball.
  • The secondary in general is doing a good job of sticking in coverage + tackling. That LB group is making the middle of the field such a liability though.

I was going to say that about Rozeboom--he is guessing and shooting gaps.

I honestly expect Evero to be fired soon.  They are not getting it done and he has NO excuses now...  giving up points when they get 2 holding penalties etc.  Then the TE being wide open--I am startled.

That's right.  I am startled.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
