I think almost no matter how the year end results are, we are having another year with Canales. Its how ye does NEXT year that will determine if he gets fired or not. 

Hopefully Dan and Canales can pick their own QB instead of being told who to pick like the front office was in 2023 and 2024. Dunno about this year's draft but maybe that's why it looks better. lol

Morgan takes his orders from the Tepper's. Ultimately if we fire him it's just going to be another yes man. I don't like it either but that's where we're at.

We picked a WR despite having DJ Moore and Robbie Anderson who had just signed an extension and was coming off of a 1,000 yard season. I wanted Slater in the 1st after we just missed out on Sewell. His film showed he could handle elite pass rushers even though his arms were an inch shorter than ideal which is why Rhule wouldn't even consider him. All pro as a rookie. And I'm with you that we should have taken CH in the 2nd. the 2 most important positions on the line solidified for a decade. Nothing against Horn, but you take a franchise LT when they're sitting in front of you, and Slater was clearly that. And the even more sad part is my homer Wolverine pick in the 3rd was Nico Collins. I didn't think he would turn into what he has, but for a 3rd rounder, I wouldn't have hesitated in the slightest.

We've been trying to outsmart the room for years and we look really stupid.

Horn, TMJ, BC or Slater, Creed, Collins.

Completely different offense if we had done something so simple.

Part of all of this is Canales needing to look out for his job as well. I completely expect him to be here next year but next year could be the year he gets fired if he doesnt improve things. So if BY doesnt improve significantly, I would expect to see a new QB here next year.

Canales job will determine on how the QB position plays next season.

Yes. Big surprise that the man that couldn't even operate a pizza joint even with his name value in Charlotte can't run an NFL front office. Can't get over his 2023 and 2024 draft classes. Taking XL, Brooks, Wallace takes a special skill of incompetence. Can't get over his plan at MLB. Was apart of the Fitterer team and their comedy of errors. We need fresh ideas in the building next year not only at GM, but in our scouting department.

I think Canales gets fired during the '26 season, and we don't want to replace a GM and a coach in the same year. Fire Evero and Morgan this year.  The new GM can fire Canales at the end of next year and pick his replacement.

Nah, torch the scouting department, front office and coaching staff all at once and rebuild them in the image of the new GM who has full control and final say.

If you really want to change the identity of the culture, then your opinion may indeed be the way to go.

1) I see nothing from our drafts since 2020 to indicate that either the scouts or the GM's are shrew evaluators of college talent.

2) A new GM should be able to hire a coach since his livelihood is directly affected by how well the coach can get the team to perform on Sundays. The only time I'm ok with a GM keeping the coach that proceeded his hiring is if the new GM wants to work with the coach. Ideally, He should have final say over the coach instead of the owner. And, that coach and GM need to be in sync on how the team should be run on both sides of the ball.

3) A new coach should be able to pick his own staff. If he wants to keep a coach already on the staff that's fine. A new HC hire shouldn't be told that you have to use this guy for one of the jobs, especially a position as important OC or DC.

I was never onboard with Morgan to begin with.  The dude always seemed a hammer short of a full tool bag, maybe too many concussions.  He was a Fitterer hold over and I thought he should have been gone when Fitts went.  He literally made it to NFL GM with no credentials to speak of other than a playing career.  Shorts stints of personnel management for the Seahawks and Bills, neither organization choosing promotion or retention.  I believe Morgan was added as a friendly face to sooth a fanbase that was growing to hate Tepper and probably retained for the same reason.  Morgan never coached, had minimal front office experience and the GM he "assisted" was deservedly fired.  From what I can find online he received a BA in Liberal Arts from Miami so that isn't exactly a qualification either.
