It looks horrible but I’m not sure it’s the worst play. It’s fourth and long and their offense looked inept for the first three plays. They have three timeouts and the qb is Bryce young. In that position it’s probably better to hope for punt shenanigans or Bryce throwing another pick. 

They force a punt if the DB doesn’t commit PI. I don’t think Bryce threw a catchable ball there.

Yeah that’s what I was texting my friends. They had all 3 timeouts and I think they had a better shot forcing a field goal than a 3 n out at midfield. I was genuinely shocked.

Apparently he's already thrown his defensive coordinator under a speeding bus following the loss. You can't lose to the Carolina Panthers and not offer up a sacrifice folks.

Every time we win a game somebody's head has to roll and honestly, the DC who let a backup RB run for 200+ yards and nearly 10ypc wouldn't feel like an overreaction.

so you all wouldn't have punted on a 4th and 17 when you had three timeouts and a chance to get the ball back?

 

Odds of making it on a 4th and 17 are very bad.  Odds of forcing a three and out are better.  And if their defense hadn't committed a penalty, they would likely have gotten the ball back.

McD gutting his defense to fund his offense is what is going to get him fired. That and injuries. No way I belive Tua makes it through a season and with Hill out that's a huge chunk of unhelpful cap spent.
