what don't you like about it, sir?

Way too high for Kinlaw.  Not addressing the oline until the 6th (havent we learned our lesson yet?), Aiyuk in the 3rd?

All in all it doesnt really address our biggest needs.  Not sure how a big name doesnt drop at 7 where we would have to "reach" for Kinlaw.  Would much rather have the top tackle instead.

Looks like prime time to trade down, based on the commodities.

With the heavy WR pedigree in this draft, will WR's be the hottness and fought for in the 1st and 2nd rounds? If so, sell picks to a team high on a certain guy and shore up other areas with the draft capital.

With the heavy WR pedigree in this draft, will they be devalued and picked in later rounds based on the abundance? If so, sell to a team not in the WR market, but has a certain player at another position they want, then pick a WR you like later in the later rounds with the draft capital acquired.

Burrow

Tua

Young

Brown

Okudah

Simmons

Bechton

One of them is going to be there at 7 and we could realistically take any one of them, depending on Cam's health. We should be staying put unless we are planning on rolling with Cam (he's 100%) as our future, and if so, we could trade back and get a couple of solid guys at 12 or 13 if we have trade up partners.

Bechton, Brown and Okudah are my top 3 that could be available to us, and unless the trade is really good, we should land one of those 3.

disappeared in several games, lack of effort, etc.

Lot of upside and out of this world measurements but 7 seems way too early. Seems like he’s climbing just off combine and measurements.

I don’t think he’ll be a pro bowl level player at the next level and that’s what you want to see drafting that high.

I’ll start this off by saying I want Brown over Kinlaw without at doubt, however if Brown is gone I’d be ok with Kinlaw.

Your post makes no sense though.  “He’s climbing just based off combine”.  Kinlaw didn’t participate in the combine.  He is climbing based on the fact that he dominated at Senior Bowl week, and had really good tape against top level competition (Bama/UGA).

”Lack of effort”.  When he got to college he was extremely overweight because no one had ever told him how to train or eat well.  In just a few months the guy went from fat to lean and dropped like 50+ pounds.  Takes a lot of discipline and effort to do that and stay that way with his frame.

i do agree with you that he disappeared at times against weak competition , so motivation could be something they’d need to work on with him.

He could turn out to be the best player in the draft when it is all said and done, but like I said earlier I want Brown because he’s the most sure thing IMO.

I wouldn't take Kinlaw over Brown, but I've seen more and more people starting to drop Brown further and further after that combine performance. It would not shock me if he fell out of the top 10.

Good, because a ton of mocks I saw had been trending the Lions taking him over Okunda.  I've done a good bit of simulations by now and the best results have us starting with Brown at #7.  It takes a major need off the board immediately and prevents the temptation to reach later on.
