Hall of Fame Game is cancelled

The NFL Hall of Fame game is cancelled.

Officially it is the first NFL casualty to Covid-19

The NFL Preseason will not start on time. This puts the on time start to the season in real doubt.

If you want football, wear a damn mask in public. If we all do that, we can have nice things again.

I saw on the news this morning an "anti-mask" protest in Arizona, led by a Scottsdale city council member. Arizona has the fastest rising rate of infections in the US. I used to be skeptical that the NFL season would even be delayed. After see this level of stupidity, I will be surprised if there is any football played this year.

Why is the US having the worst pandemic experience by far despite having first world medical resources?

Draw yourself this Venn diagram:

three circles with heavy overlap.
One labeled high emphasis On personal freedom.

One labeled low emphasis on personal responsibility.

The third just labeled Amount of Stupid.

The area where they intersect label: Craptacular pandemic response.

Sadly it's the anti mask league all over. They will tank the economy and football will be another casualty of their stupidity and self righteousness. I think the saying goes 'opinions are like buttholes, everyone has one and some share the smell and view.'

Wear the damn masks and wash your damn hands.

I wonder when the Panthers will start issuing refunds?  At this point they can't make season ticket holders attend games against their will or else forfeit ticket money.  I know teams will hold out as long as they can, but it seems even if limited attendance is allowed, people that want refunds should be able to get them with no questions asked.

The ironic thing is that those same people were the ones clamoring the loudest for re-opening. Somehow they couldn't wrap their little pea brains around the idea that wearing masks was the fastest and surest way to re-open the economy.

We are short-sighted and selfish people.

They will probably handle it like some of the ticket agencies my friend has been dealing with.  She had tickets to several different events.  When it was clear the events weren't going to happen, she requested a refund.  They basically told her until the day the event doesn't take place, she's not due a refund.  Then the date would come and go, and they'd issue her a refund several weeks after the event didn't happen.

I never thought there would be a season to start with. But how does this effect next years NFL draft? Do we all pick in the same spot as the last draft, or is there a lottery?

Who will there be to draft though? NCAA won't have a season and schools might not even be in session, lol.

They aren't self righteous. They are ignorant, lazy, and spiteful.

    • Them playing behind a couple more seasoned guys until they get familiar with coverage and pace of play is a good thing though. We really can use them to spell the other guys, and in situational ball especially with Ransom on possible run/blitzing downs.
    • They fuged him over so bad to help cover their bad judgement. About time he got a little something to wrk with.
    • I think completion percentage is a bit of a overinflated stat for a qb too. People place to much stock into it. So many factors to consider with it : receivers, how many attempts are made deep, the defense etc all play a roll in it. When it’s considerably low 50% or less the QB accuracy can come into question. But I don’t think it’s necessarily one of the better percentages to put so much importance into for that position. General effectiveness is far more indicative of the QB you have. First downs, 3rd and 4th down conversions, points scored and clutch plays IMO is how you grade a QB. Always bothered the poo out of me how people downed Cam for his completion percentage and that’s what they used to disregard him as an all time great. Dude damn near averaged 3tds to 1 turnover a game and was an obvious difference maker for us.
