2 years $5.5M total; a bit surprised we didn't want to match that but we can probably replace him for cheaper with a later round pick in the draft or a different FA. He filled in admirably this past season but isn't a guy who should be your #1 (which he is in Atlanta as of now...).

I agree..it’s possible he chose Atlanta because of opportunity to start/have a bigger role than here behind CMC

Ummm, you don't pay players to not be utilized

Well that's what we did last year and then we doubled down and restructured the contract of the highest paid running back in the league.

Where exactly is the benefit to the team in this? It's great guys can show up in their #22 jerseys but when does the winning start? Have you seen our divisional record lately?

Great. He is going to run straight through this weak run defense.

Maybe if we play him early in the season.

By season's end last year, he couldn't handle a full starter's load anymore. We were runningback by committee at that point.

He came in and made the most of his opportunity (something he never really got anywhere else). Now, after making some waves, he's hopefully getting his best contract ever. Good for him and best of the world to the guy.

Yea but hate to see him with the Falcons.

From what I've read, he is (at least for the moment) the starter in Atlanta. It's possible he chose the Falcons for that reason.

I honestly think that's a mistake.

Based on what I saw of him last year, he's much better suited to be a top end backup than a full time starter.

Of course everyone chirps in about CMC last season. He had injuries, we brought him back, he was reinjured.

There was no benefit to the team in that, there never was supposed to be. He was injured. He came back and was utilized before getting reinjured again. He wasn't sat so we would lose games, as is evidenced by the fact we were still trying to win games (Washington anyone?).

    • If we went LB at 19, the LB at 51 better be head and shoulders the BPA on our board. I was thinking more like 1st or 2nd and then double dipping in the mid-rounda But yeah, if we went LB back to back jn the 1st and 2nd and they turned out like Star and Short I don't think anyone would be complaining. Well, not many anyway. There's always gonna be a few no matter what. LOL
    • I have been doing a bunch of mock drafts and this one interesting scenario popped up that made me question myself. I know our needs edge, mike, OT,wr, and secondary. This situation Love fell to 19 and I know we don't NEED a RB. But if we stay out at 19(I don't think we do) I don't think I could say no to love. If this team really believes in BPA and love is there at 19 who realistic is better than love at this point? Love is a top 5 talent, there is no akeem messador or Caleb banks or Kenyon Sadiq type player I think I would rather have than love. He would make Bryce life much easier, he's a homerun threat on a offense that lacks speed. He's essentially modern day Reggie bush to me and I think he could play alongside Chubba on passing down potentially as a slot and be the speed threat we really need. I think it's a bit crazy but I would be willing to wait til the second round and see who falls at edge(I think we land Chubb or loyd in free agency) maybe chase TJ parker if he falls or Rodriguez or golliday in the second/third. What say you?
