I just like that we actually have a GM and organization that finally takes chances on these types of players. Hurney and Richardson would have NEVER. Yeah, most of the time they don't work out, but sometimes  they do (Tyreek Hill) and you get a steal in the later rounds.

There was a certain DL out of Mississippi State who we should all recall...

“Feedback from the Iowa staff was not positive” This is the most concerning part. It’s one thing to be immature off the field but still be coachable and a good teammate. It’s another thing when you are not well liked by the coaching staff.

I literally am struggling to find a true off field issue, only thing I'm finding is that he has a learning disability, which as long as he has the maturity, shouldn't be an issue and if anything else makes me more proud (As a parent of a child with autism) to support him than I did beforehand.

An Iowa staff kind of famous for being draconian and out of touch with their players, though. I don't know what the note about avoiding suspensions indicates, but given the source, I'm not that worried about what the staff thought.

I've said for years I hated that we just drafted choir boys.

Would be nice if he turned out like Greg Hardy, just talent wise/draft value of course.

Also, it mentioned we did not address the position further in free agency or in the draft...didn’t we sign DeQuan Jones and draft another DT with our last pick?

Not all but the majority. It's a spectrum of dumb. For whatever reason regular young people generally get more "dumb" leeway than athletes. Generally.

    • Carolina Panthers rookie wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan is putting the league on notice early into his NFL career, and 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan is well aware.  “I think he’s a stud,” Shanahan told reporters Thursday. “He’s going to be one of the best receivers in this league sooner than later. He’s got all the skill sets to do it, and I think he’s just getting started.”  Through 11 games played, McMillan has racked up 748 receiving yards on 54 receptions. He ranks sixth in the NFL in receiving yards and leads all rookies in the category.  Carolina selected McMillan as the No. 8 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. San Francisco had the 11th overall pick.  Did the receiver out of Arizona catch Shanahan’s eye in draft preparation?  “Yeah, big time,” Shanahan said.  Shanahan also said that he thought the receiver would be taken well ahead of the 49ers’ draft position, but the team did their due diligence when scouting the best overall draft picks in the 2025 class. With McMillan off the board, San Francisco ended up selecting defensive end Mykel Williams with the 11th pick to bolster its defensive line. https://www.nbcsportsbayarea.com/nfl/san-francisco-49ers/kyle-shanahan-tetairoa-mcmillan/1893558/
    • Koochie is playing his best hockey yet so far but it’s a small sample size
    • In basically every win but Atlanta he's had 2-3 plays that were a big deal but he also was part of why we needed those 2-3 plays instead of just cruising.
