So if Jackson struggles to cover players deep on one side of the field as a corner, you think we should move him to FS where he has to play both sides of the field deep? Why in the world would we do that? Now move him to the slot and I would agree.

I do believe he would best at slot corner. Just wanted to see people's opinions of IF he got moved to that position. Like I said, unlikely to happen.

Thanks for the write up. Keep it up!

I agree about Thomas. We're all hoping for an Olsen 2.0 but, heck, I'd even relish a Jenkins or Walls clone. Thomas ain't it. For a 4th year player to garner praise from the head coach about having a good offseason this early in the offseason ...... man, I'd start packing.

He looks too trim even for FS. He'd get steam rolled in the running game and wouldn't a heavy hitter in any sense. His speed might good in 3rd and long situations. About it though.

I think he is too small to play the slot and too inconsistent.  But he's certainly shown he's not really an outside corner either. But what do I know.

I can buy what Rhule I selling.

Last year was the first year of an all new coaching staff, systems. There were no OTA's.  I'm sure it was a struggle for Ian.

With that being said, I really don't expect much of him. Guess it's just from overall disappointment with him.

If Rhule is right, we win.

If he's blowing smoke, we got that covered too.

I was playing madden the other day and downloaded an updated roster (with all the new additions) and the guy that created it had D. Jackson at FS. Obviously this would be with Bouye taking his spot at the CB2 position (after his suspension).

This is probably unlikely, but I wanted to know what some people think about this idea.

He is the fastest CB in the game, he is a much better CB2 with Horn on the other side. AJ is slot for me. Horn is a beast on there.

I think Grier has ‘moved on’ mentally.

He prob isn’t fully accepting it yet, but his comments the other week tell me he knows he’s not going to make it at this level.

To be fair he should have never been picked were he was. He's just another example of a poor FO that has now been corrected.

Jackson can run really fast and has decent ball skills, that's honestly about it. He's really inconsistent and he's a poor tackler. He must have been a terrible route runner or something because honestly his skill set screams slot WR IMO.

Yeah I'm not sure why people say he can play the slot. His tackling isn't made for that position. I would be surprised if he's eventually cut.

"He's small, he can play the slot"

That needs to die sooner rather than later.

    • This is one of my key concerns lost in the sauce that is the neverending conversation about him evading pressure and the OL. Eventually any QB is going to have to step up into the pocket and show the defense they can still beat them even if they get through. We have a limited QB who cannot consistently do this and as such we are relegated to going back and forth about how successful he was at evading pressure but we have little else to write home about. Tyler Shough stepped up into the pocket and made plays despite being pressured and sacked. He's played in about 35 less games than Bryce Young. That is a problem. And isn't just going to go away. The Bucs are going to do the same thing after watching the film.
    • Oh, absolutely! That doesn't absolve the absolute dogshit hockey that the team played in front of him, though. Only Cane that played well tonight was Bradly Nadeau.
    • Thanks for illustrating my point.  No one in the last several pages of this discussion is suggesting we should hang on to him, but anytime someone says anything less than "take him out back and shoot him" you act like they are. That's either you not understanding what you're reading or just being a nimrod because you can't keep up. (I would have said 'or just sh-tposting' but you're way too emotional on this topic for that) Either way, the result is the same 😆
