Panthers owner David Tepper once said he wanted to put a domed stadium in Charlotte.  But after Covid-19 and a few years of experiencing the great weather in the area he said ‘'there's no way in hell'' he would build a domed stadium. His 5-10 year plan

Tepper says at some point BoA Stad is “going to fall down.” But ... “I’m not building the stadium alone. The community is going to have to want it.”

Tepper says the Charlotte Pipe and Foundry location still makes sense. Or the Panthers could play somewhere else for a couple years and build a new stadium on the site of Bank of America Stadium. That was what the Vikings did.

One possibility for a new stadium includes building where the current one is and playing elsewhere for a few years. Said Pipe & Foundry site still could make sense.

I think he's settled in and sees a dome doesn't make sense.

Plus, when you don't have a "star" pushing sales your goals become more conservative obviously.

It'll be a retractable roof an the tax payers will have to foot most of the bill.

A retractable roof is the best of both worlds and gives a stadium a lot more versatility to host other types of events. Why pay for it yourself when you can extort money from the city?

Then why move out of BOA? I mean a Dome would be great but if not just renovate BOA.

I dont get the backlash at his statements. He basically said the only way a stadium goes up if the community wants it. That's different from everyone's thinking that he wanted a new stadium now a while ago. Far as who pays... has there ever been a situations where the bill wasnt put on taxpayers or some of it? Cuz i dont know.
