You guys notice how tight lipped this FO has been so far?:

• Horn wasn't really on anyone's radar for us to draft
• Darnold Came out of Nowhere
• Nobody thought we would sign Moton long term until basically 20 minutes before it was announced. 

The stuff with Teddy was all Tepper's doing, that's why everyone knew about it, and everyone knew we needed a QB so we were obviously in the Watson discussion. 

But yeah. It's a new time. I like it.

Yep, way to much money for him to gamble on.  Take the massive guaranteed amount and move on down the road.  He still has an extension in him later if he continues to play well.  Too much risk of him getting hurt on a one year deal

Very interesting point.

There's been a pretty big disparity between what was predicted to happen and what actually ended up happening on a number of fronts. That's one of the reasons I believe all the hyped up Watson talk was probably bullsh-t. The Fields talk certainly was.

It may indeed be that what David Tepper wants might find its way to the media, but history so far has taught us that what Tepper wants isn't necessarily what Rhule and Fitterer are going to do.

Mind you, being able to keep your plans quiet doesn't automatically equal correct decision making, but it's still a good thing on its own.

Glad we have RT locked up for years to come - now time to get LT solidified....because I'm afraid that Cam Erving ain't it.  Hopefully Christensen can come in and play there at a high level.  Would be KILLER to get a starting, quality LT on 3rd round pick contract money for the next 4 years.

This a great move by the Panthers.  We have our RT locked down for foreseeable future without overpaying him (his deal is in the neighborhood of the Ramcyck deal with the Saints). It’s more than the tag obviously but it would cost us more if we waited until next year. This is win-win for everyone.
