Moton or Samuel.... would you change who got Tepper's bag?

Samuel is (dare I say it) overrated. He reminded me of Philly Brown, if Brown had put on muscles and was a tad quicker.

This team has not had a starting tackle (left or right) since the departure of Jordan Gross.

So, paying a guy that was behind two 1,000 yard receivers make little to no sense in comparison.

Philly brown??? Come on bro... Samuel was making plays brown couldn't even dream of making..running the ball and making impacts just stop it..

Loved Samuel and loved to see him do well last year and get paid.  However, can't always trust contract year production. He was largely a potential guy until it was time to cash in.  Moton on the other hand, consistency and good to great play at a more premium position all day every day.

Interesting factoid, when he played for the Panthers many referred to him as Samuels and then the wrath of the internet was laid upon them.    Now that he is no longer a Panther everyone gets the name right.
Confusing but entertaining nonetheless.

Oh Samuels now I know him.😂

It's Moton easily. I liked Samuel but it's a damn shame it took so long to figure out how to use him. I know Ron was a defensive guy but man, you would think he would have learned something having to plan around gadget players.

You would think a Defensive Coach, who has to game plan against guys like that, would say "You know, I gotta get me one of those".

Curtis did get better every year. So it could have been more than just a Contract year. Maybe it was just growth.

Kinda like having a corvette in the garage but always driving your 1990 Ford Taurus because it's always gotten you from point A to point B and it's not like you drive over 65 anyway.

Change out that Vette for a Mustang, and I get what you're putting down. It's why I don't let the wife drive mine. It's a Sports Car. Drive it as such. My favorite driving game is to use the brake as little as possible. I think that's why I am usually driving alone. I've had some crazy reactions when folks get out of my car.

Edit to add; Sorry about the tangent. It happens.

Before FA there was a fair amount on board of prioritizing Samuel over Moton

No there wasn't.

I'm the biggest Samuel stan on here and still think we should've resigned him.

But, not over Moton. That's ludicrous!

    • I could be waaaaaaay off about Kon. I do fault myself into, to borrow a NFL phrase heavily "RAS" nerd on players, too much. There are PLENTY of athletic freak shows that are playing overseas(or Amazon delivery) cause they never figured out NBA ball. I can easily miss seeing the talent. Plus did he only have 2 dunks on the season??(is that for real??) I didn't watch over a few hours of duke, but not one point did I think "That Kon guy is a top 4 pick in the upcoming draft". IMO I still foresee Ball bringing the ball up, doing his weak isolation game and never even looking for Kon. That's his best trait according to everyone, shooting right? I do not see ball, bridges, miller or even williams making the extra pass to Kon for him to shoot a 3.  Then defense-wise, Im not ready to type the amount of questions I foresee in his ability for guarding NBA SGs or bench SFs for that matter. Not that NBA players care to defend, but still..... I just feel he's a bad fit for the current hornets, trades are taking place tho... Liam to me is a decent comp for Kon and he fell some, but was a 29 overall pick. Still around 13-21 was the good solid range for Liam and I thought the same for Kon. This is just a classic case of I need to see it. It add to this, Kon is like garlic. Ball is like sugar and Miller is like flour. Mix it together and chef Lee is not going to get me to eat that dish..... Honestly I don't know why Im this vocal about Kon. In past years I would be patience and not post and see what the kid has. The other side, insert classic white boy terms here- _____, ______, _______< etc >. Hornets do desperately need them. His crafty back door cuts, his willingness to stay a extra 2 hours to refine lees plays, keep playing with bruised limbs. I heard from many reports he's mentally tough and hornets by all gods need that. God they are such pussys.  I hope Im wrong and if so, I will give Kon his just props.
