Darnold IS a dual threat QB. He can run. Is he 85% of what Cam/is/was? No.

Is Fields AND Justin Herbert better than Darnold? Hmph...

They could have kept their franchise QB and still made all these great picks on defense like they have, love that, but they've f'd up the QB position, willingly. Mistake.

Well, my preferred scenario was always to keep Cam, so I'm with you.

Just so everyone is aware, these overalls aren't exactly refelective of what the team overall actually is in the game. These are "assigned" overall ratings, that change to reflect the teams actual overall when you start a Franchise.

With that being said, a lot of the Panthers ratings are true head scratchers.

And the Cowboys are always over-rated because the ratings guy is a HUGE Cowboys fan.

This is shocking to me. I mean I get the hype of the jags adding Lawrence and so on but the lions are better than us? Even after losing Stafford?

Wow, 73 is terri-bad. Like most teams backup players are higher than a 73...

But honestly, the real question should be who the hell even plays Madden anymore. That game has been dog poo since the mid 2ks

We should have been last.

Madden world: we are mostly running 4th stringers on top outside of a very select few on the roster.

Real world: we are are running fourth stringers outside of 4 players and everything is put on an untested coach.

That's where we are at. I don’t see any reason to rank us differently.

So they’re literally a *couple* debatable spots off and that shocks you? And yes, position wise and as a team as a whole, I can see why we’re ranked as such. Teams with worse records have better individual players.

This forum has to take those homer shades off every once in a while. This team is not that great and hasn’t been that great for 6 years. And honestly, as a franchise as a whole. Still in the bottom 3rd.

Instead of demanding Madden get their poo together for a more accurate ranking of the irrelevant poo pile teams at the bottom of the NFL, perhaps being more critical of the Panthers would make more sense.

A couple years back, they retooled the ratings.  I'm assuming they are still using a similar rating system.  They dialed back the ratings quite a bit, especially during the draft.  A first round pick outside the top 10 is awesome if 72 OVR, especially if they are faster to level up.  Highest player in the draft is probably 80 at best.  Most of the draft is going to be 60's and lower.  Your oline starters will be in the 70's unless you have some above average guys.  Guards with 68 overall starting isn't uncommon.

That is inaccurate. Game Is far from perfect, but has been pretty solid more recently. Those who play it at the highest levels anyway. I honestly don't know what people like you want, it's 11 on 11.   Your not going to turn into some different game it's football.

    • I really like the way this team is trending. Morgan and Canales rookie campaign saw them do some questionable picks but, they also did some really good things. Especially addressing the offensive line.  Young had such a disastrous rookie season where his confidence was nowhere to be seen.  You can attribute part of this to a terrible offensive line.  So, we focused on the O-line.   We then brought in several defensive free agents that were supposed to compliment Brown.  Once Brown went down those players could not hold the line.  2025 we focused on defense in Free Agency and brought in several good players.  We then added more talent in the draft.  I think we have competition in several areas where Vets are not guaranteed to be starters.  Our offensive line is pretty set with some good backups.  Our defensive line is going to be a war for who comes out to be the starters.  All in All, we are leaps and bounds much better than 2023 roster.  Canales made some rookie head coach mistakes but grew as the season progressed.  He got our QB, who was starting to look like a huge bust, playing with confidence and poise.  Now it appears Young is moving upwards.  Maybe he is a QB whisperer.  After Young started to play better our offense was fun to watch.  Morgan knows football and knows what he wants in his players.  It appears to me that not only are these players he's drafted really good and got great value for them, but they are also high motor, intense players. Our defense, in the past, was always the key to our success.  I think Morgan is building a great defense. I know it is too soon to tell but I believe we may have a tandem that will be around a long time.  It would be nice to see Morgan/Canales be in the same class as Lynch/Shanahan and Beane/McDermott.   I know many Huddlers will overreact, but I truly believe we have a tandem that will be around a long time. TIME WILL TELL. Go Panthers
    • I am actually really excited about this kid. One thing that really jumped off watching his highlights was he almost is too fast or almost over pursues. You can get away with that stuff in college but the NFL these guys are stronger and more "slippery".  Little things that can be corrected but he seems to have a motor which is always a plus!
    • Many teams looked at the drop-off as a reason not to select him in the first round.  Going into the 2024 season he was listed as a potential first round pick.  Morgan, IMO, based our pick on what he did in 2023 and expects him to play at the weight he played at Purdue. Morgan did this twice in this draft.  Scourton and Evans.  saw one stat on Evans that he had 58 ypg in one of his previous seasons.  Plus Notre Dame has a history of good TEs that can catch and block. Canales will 3 good TEs that all will see time on the field.
