Maybe he wasn't learning the playbook? Maybe he just showed he didn't have the ability?

All I know is that if you're getting cut as an OL by the Panthers right now, that gives a very poor outlook for your professional football career.

Like the others are saying, he must have been brutally bad to be cut from this oline

That was quick.  I wonder how they can evaluate someone like that that quickly?  A handful of practices and no games.  Seems odd after all of the talk

The most obvious difference between Senior Bowl and Training Camp is how one performs against other college players albeit good ones, vs how one performs against actual NFL players.  I'd say this was the most likely reason: He looked good against college competition but got exposed against pros.

If I recall correctly, they picked him up because of his Senior Bowl performance.

Guess it didn't translate...

It's crazy because I thought he was one of the more impressive OL at the Senior Bowl. Guess Deonte showed enough that they didn't want two developmental guys.

They've had contact with him since April, and a hands-on look at him since May.

It's not just about being physically able to play the position - maybe his attitude was awful. Maybe he couldn't process the playbook. Maybe he wasn't coachable.

Either way, considering they're able to carry 90 players at the moment, something must have been really off for him to be cut this early.

That senior bowl week, analysts had him as high as a 3rd/4th rounder.  I have to imagine there was some type of thing with him not translating whether it was learning, attitude, etc. if he couldn't make it to the first preseason game.

We quietly still have Rhule's old Baylor center in Tecklenberg on the team.  Find that interesting.

    • We have taken two TEs in three seasons I think, and Sanders may not pan out or it may have been a sophomore slump, but we took a guy last year that was coming on.  I am not in favor of TE in round one and really don’t consider it a high priority in any round.
    • Trevon Moehrig, Turk Wharton, Bobby Brown, Jaelen Phillips, Devin Lloyd, Nic Scourton Giving him 6 starters in 2 offseasons that cost boat loads of money or a 2nd round pick... Not exactly handing the man scraps. The point of the draft is to make the team better. You want to make this about Bryce. It isn't. It's about improving the team. And if anyone can look at our offense and go "we're good", they are lying to themselves. You give quarterbacks weapons. We SCREAMED for YEARS to give Cam some help. But now because we are trying to do it for Bryce, you all are saying we are coddling him because of his "deficiencies". It's a double-standard because you don't like the guy, clearly. But even if he does fail, guess what? The next guy has help too. Win-win.
    • we have 2 solid/above average (however you want to phrase that) wr's, which is more than half the league at least.  We dont need to be blowing more first round capital just to placate Bryce and his limitations.   We have one absolute stud (probably top 10 wr) in tmac and we have a high floor guy with insane potential if he can stay healthy.  Yeah man we are in better shape than the bulk of the teams in the league.  If you need to add some speed or whatever, sure draft in the mid rounds or wait until tc cuts.  Its monumentally stupid to spend 3 straight firsts on a wr if thats the route they go.  ITs just more and more excuses for Bryce, thats where we are at now.    "How can bryce succeed without a big possession type wr (drafts 2 for him), how is bryce supposed to exceed without a speed guy......."   Its fuging never ending.  Give EE some goddamn help on defense for once
