Little traded to Dolphins for 7th rounder

Hurney in the 2nd was one of the absolute guarantees that you have in football.

He messed up a couple times, but his ability to pick absolute trash between 33 and 68 in each draft was amazing to witness, and made my cry on the regular.

I simply do not understand how he was so terrible in the 2nd, he was worse at that than anything else pertaining to his job...and he was flat ass awful at being an NFL GM.

Well the writing was on the wall for Little. Not worth the $1.1 million in base salary he was owed. So instead of flat out cutting him, we get a 7th round pick. And even though it's kind of pennies in the grand scheme of the cap, we also save an extra $100,000 on our cap compared to cutting him ($100k of his 2021 salary is guaranteed).

At the same time, I get it from the Dolphins standpoint. They need line help and are probably hoping that Little's pedigree gives him a shot to turn it around in a new environment. And if he doesn't, they can just cut him and only have to pay $100k and the lost 7th round pick. If he even turns into a serviceable swing tackle and starts a game or two due to injury, it's probably worth it for them. Granted, I seriously doubt he'll do that and is more likely to not even make their 53, but it's a low risk proposition for them.

I wonder if this is a further indication Rhule is coming around on Moton/Christensen LT/RT combo...

Cause as much as love this team, going into the season with Cam Erving and Trent Scott as our LT's is absolute malfeasance...

It can't be worse than the Bell/Chandler combo we rolled with in 2014.

    • Been here since middle school right when it started around 2003 after the charlotte.com one. Living outside of Carolina it was tough to find good Panthers content, news or analysis. And no one to talk to about it. This place gave me a lot though I don’t often post. In the later days, I particularly Loved PhillyB’s write ups. They were fire. Too bad I go let it go. I appreciate the hell out of @MHS831 @TheSpecialJuan @Jackie Lee and others who have been posting great content and keeping this place worth coming back to. Particularly during the offseason. Appreciate y’all!
    • Nice explanation, but I was just messing with you. Thought that would be obvious. I dont have the energy to keep on trolling. Last season I compared our situation with Bryce as a potential Alex Smith, but what we should be looking for is our version of Mahomes. Some people will read that as one sentence, to me that single sentence is equivalent to a half A4 explanationf of the teams pathway forward.
    • I dont know how much of his salary would come across and how much a trade would cost but I feel Kmet would be the sort of TE Canales and Morgan would like
