Panthers 27

Jets 17

Panthers defense does a good job shutting down Wilson but do break down and allow for one long TD pass to rookie Elijah Moore who beats Donte Jackson.

Darnold starts slow and early on the Jets look like they might win the game. Darnold turns it on after settling down and the Panthers pull away in the second half.

Line is -5 Panthers, I think we cover - 24 - 17 

Darnold tosses 2 touchdowns, throws for 250 yards.   

CMC has 150 total yards from scrimmage

Panthers defense dominates early, lets them come back a bit in garbage time.  Wilson is sacked 5 times, intercepted once.

Panthers look dominant to start, Jets start to claw back into it but are held off 31 - 24

Sam throws for 300+ yards, CMC 100+ total yards, TDs for DJ/TMJ/CMC.

Defense gets 3 sacks, a turnover, and looks amazing until they let their foot off of the gas in the 2nd half and the Jets come roaring back with back-to-back-to-back scoring drives. Defense toughens up at the end to hold them off.

Erving surprises as not terrible, Burns makes at least 3 splash plays, Chinn makes at least two splash plays, and people start to wonder why Tommy Tremble isn't on the field when Dan Arnold puts up a 3 catch, sub-50yd stat line. Ian Thomas continues to disappoint.

Offenses generally start slow.  Our guys didn't get much work.  OL looked problematic vs Steeler backups.  Jets interior DL is pretty solid.   So I think this game is actually close. 

I think it will be an overload of CMC and people irritated about his workload.   I'm calling it comes down to our new FG kicker.  That seems like a predictable storyline for how this one could go.

      Bet didn't hit because the referee missed 3 clear corner kicks. I had a 5k parlay that would have been alive tomorrow if he didn't miss those calls as well. Super annoying

      I don't think it's at all a given that we have players who are good at driving the basket. I guess that depends on your definition. Bridges is 43rd in attempts in the paint Miller is 64th and LaMelo is 66th. We all love to see the lob threat but it's largely miniscule at this point in time. There's gotta be a solution here if LaMelo is to be the centerpiece because this is simply not sustainable if we want to continue to ascend. If he can't drive to the basket then that means we need to add another player to the core who consistently can. That would require moving someone like Miles Bridges. And that's certainly not going to be popular with LaMelo but something has to give here for what we are investing and we need to maximize guys like Miller and Knueppel on rookie deals while we still can. The three chucking is fine when it's working where the issue comes into play is there are no adjustments when it isn't and we just go into a shell and begin to look like the Hornets of yesteryear. That's why the offensive evolution of all involved is critical to us taking the next step. Getting to the play in is nice but we should have our sights set much higher. Right now though they need to take care of business against the Heat. All I ask is that they at least beat those fools. I cannot stand the Heat.
