 Why ?

Because hardly anyone comes back the next week after a concussion anymore. It's very rare anymore with the protocol requirements. I mean just think back at the missed time for the concussions on our team the last 5 years. Missing at least one game is basically a minimum anymore.

I'm happy with his effort and he bounced back well enough but Joe Brady has to understand he does not have Cam Newton. Do not put your qb in jeopardy when you have a run game going like we did with Chuba and Abdullah.

I agree.  I was surprised by that move.

Normally, Sam would take those runs when we were in short-yardage downs but he ran him like he was a running back there.

That play call where he got rocked boggled my mind.  Sam had bounced back a little from the disaster that the last few weeks were so let's run him like a RB (while we have two of those doing well) and get him lit the fug up one play after he got forearmed in the head already.  Knowing full damn well that PJ fuging Walker is the only other option on the roster.

Wut.

I hope he heals up quickly - he absolutely played his face off.

DJ was the only receiver on the roster to have a catch for positive yards. That is not going to work on any team that's not the Falcons.

like with all the issues on the team, and Sam has made some boneheaded throws and i legit cannot figure out why his timing was so whack earlier this season

Our WRs cannot gain consistent separation. I do not know why.

Anyway on topic Sam was on target and on time today and made a few nice throws, and few that were dropped. His numbers don't really indicate his play today.

Really, REALLY impressed though with how he managed the game. He was make checks and adjustments very well and our offense moved very well against a Falcons team that was trending up.

Still a question mark long term -- he can absolutely develop and grow despite some people on here telling you otherwise -- but can he do it in a timely manner?  But this was a good bounce back game for him.

    • Was at the game and NYCFC honestly outplayed CLT the whole way.  Khalina and Zaha carried the team.  Zaha's wife on IG making it sound like he's gone come July. They're going to have to pay him or find a big time replacement because the team looks like pretty lost without him.
    • No one's saying LaMelo has no blame we're responding to you acting like he's the reason they lost. The scapegoating and blaming the teams woes on his personality is where it's like Cam Newton all over again. It was a failure on multiple fronts and primarily Lee's. Dude said ON AIR pregame that they had to protect the paint and if that was his gameplan going in he couldn't have botched it more. As the commentators said Ball's a rhythm guy and Orlando was preventing him for getting any kind of flow going. I'm a normie watching on TV and said they needed to bait them into fouling to combat that. They didn't even try until the 2nd half when it was too late. I think it's fair to expect the star to overcome whatever but LaMelo was not the problem in that game and he's not what is holding the team back. He's the only reason they're flirting with being a great team. I kinda put the center play on Lee too. Moose is great until he's up against a big who can body him. We've always known that and that's what Kalkbrenner is for. I don't know if it would have changed much but Kalkbrenner should have had more minutes than him.  And moving forward with the center position, I just think it's the time to trade Diabate while his stock's high and that's not an indictment of his game. He's like an evolved combination of Biyombo and PJ. He's a great rim protector and the strength issue is just what you're going to have to deal with if you want that. But Kalkbrenner is perfectly capable of protecting the rim and we gotta get away from the undersized centers or it'll always be a problem for us.
    • Honestly its why that Jalen Coker grab was a big deal.  I'd been warming up to the idea of a sadiq pick and was adamantly against a receiver...but this altered my train of thought.  I mean For instance, Cade Otton signed for 3 yr 30 mil contract...thats not dramatically different than the rookie payscale for #19 (4 year 20 mil with 5th year option), however you KNOW otton is decent...no clue if Sadiq will be anything.
