Is Rhule gonna get cute

While I don't want to see us "force" Cam in ahead of schedule, let's not kid ourselves.  PJ threw for 167 yards yesterday.  It's not like he set the world on fire with his downfield prowess.

Our running backs won that game.  Not PJ Walker.  So if you're saying Cam won't be able to figure out how to hand the ball off, I'm not on board.

Bottom line however is that Rhule won't announce a starter.  He'll make WTF prepare for both.  That's just smart football.

We were up 17 - 0 at the end of the first quarter, the Cardinals didn't score their first touchdown until the 4th quarter the coaches rightfully kept it conservative and PJ executed the game plan. We had similar game plans like this against the Eagles/Giants but the offense was so inept eventually the defense folded.

In the post game presser Rhule said that we had some deep shots dialed up for PJ but due to the flow of the game, we didn’t need to call them. That’s worth noting. The game flow dictated how we used PJ.

In all honesty, not just to brown nose PJ’s fans, PJ could be the cheat sheet Cam needs to speed up the process.  If PJ is hitting the books that hard already, then he can be in Cam’s ear with the verbiage.

Cam knows the plays, just not the specific calls/checks.  PJ can bridge that gap while Cam learns it for himself.

Im not worried about the PT split.  Cam will dominate the snaps from here on.

I see a problem with that, i was actually thinking about this while the game was going on. PJ was moving the ball well until his INT that was tipped, QB by committee is fine until Cam can learn everything in the offense.

if you could tell, they did a masterful job, that really was more common sense than anything, by making a small section of that playbook catered to Cam and his abilities.

Honestly that's what they need to do. Just use common sense and cater to Cam in the playbook. Have a set of plays specifically for him. Ease him in.  I would not be opposed to that at all.

Agree 💯 . I’m hoping the goal is to get Cam up to speed to be full-time starter after the bye when we play the Falcons. This will have Cam oiled up for the toughest stretch of our schedule with 3 division games and the possible playoff berth on the line.

It's not a matter of getting cute, in my opinion.  It's much more a matter of giving yourself the best chance of winning.

If Cam is able to get the offense under his belt, that's a great step.  Another part is to get his timing with his receivers down.  What Cam can do with CMC is pretty magical, they have excellent chemistry.

I think it's going to depend on how quickly Cam and the WRs get comfortable with each other.

I have no problem is PJ starts, plays, and Cam has more packages.  We NEED to win next week.  Our margin for error this season is so thin.

They handled Tampa today.

Yeah, but Ron has had Bruce's number every time they have ever played. Tampa barely got past them last year in the playoffs as it was just too much Brady experience versus Heineke's playing above his head. The time before that, Rivera's team won 49-7.

    • My projection. I think at WR its time to go with youth. This means Moore should be the odd man out. Horn can return both punts and kicks and Tremayne is a better WR than Moore. XL gets one more year to prove himself, although I could see a trade in the future which would mean Moore could stay. For OL, I would like us to bring back Brady if we can. The RBs, Trevor can return both punts and kicks too. With the uncertainty of Brooks and Dillon, its hard to choose either one. I think the team would like for Brooks to have a breakout season to clear any uncertainty that he deserves a spot. For now, I have them both even and on the team. DL looks solid as well as OLB. Watch out for the UDFA of Aaron Hall and Isaiah Smith at OLB. They look promising and could knock someone off the team. ILB is still the biggest weakness on the team. We need to upgrade that any means necessary. CB is strong and Im praying to all the Gods that Wheatley beats out Scott at FS.  OFFENSE: WR: Tetairoa McMillan - *Chris Brazzell II* - Brycen Tremayne TE: Tommy Tremble - James Mitchell LT: #Rasheed Walker# - *Monroe Freeling* LG: Damien Lewis C- #Luke Fortner# - *Sam Hecht* RG: Robert Hunt - #Saahdiq Charles# RT: Taylor Moton - #Stone Forsythe# TE: Ja`Tavion Sanders - Mitchell Evans WR: Xavier Legette - Jalen Coker - Jimmy Horn Jr. QB: Bryce Young - #Kenny Pickett# RB: Chuba Hubbard - Trevor Etienne - #AJ Dillon# - Jonathon Brooks DEFENSE: LE: Tershawn Wharton - Bobby Brown III  NT: *Lee Hunter* - Cam Jackson RE: Derrick Brown - LaBryan Ray LOLB: Nic Scourton - Patrick Jones II  LILB: Trevin Wallace - Bam Martin-Scott - *Jackson Kuwatch* RILB: #Devin Lloyd# - Claudin Cherrelus  ROLB: #Jaelen Phillips# - Princely Umanmielen LCB: Jaycee Horn - Akayleb Evans RCB: Mike Jackson - *Will Lee III* - Chau Smith-Wade SS: Tre`von Moehrig - Lathan Ransom FS:  Nick Scott - *Zakee Wheatley* - Demani Richardson  SPECIAL TEAMS: K/KO: Ryan Fitzgerald P/H: Sam Martin KR: Trevor Etienne - Jimmy Horn Jr. PR: Trevor Etienne - Jimmy Horn Jr. LS: J.J. • His contract is guaranteed.  Legette is just not where he needs to be mentally.  Not fully invested, it seems.
    • Literally like Hill. He's not QB1 material (now or ever), but if we can turn him into a H-back and use him like  Swiss army knife, that's his ticket to make the roster.  H-back/emergency QB.  I wonder how good his hands are?  If they are at least above average by NFL standards then we can line him up in the backfield, in the slot, split out wide and of course, in the Wildcat.
