Person: Rhule could be next, but probably not this year

Unless there's something behind the scenes that indicates Rhule can right this ship, he's gotta go. Based on what can be seen from the outside looking in, Rhule needs to go. Both of his seasons have started out looking promising and then quickly come off the rails.

this also happened with Rivera in 18 and 19.

The WFT loss I believe was the nail in the coffin. With all of the Cam home coming stuff, the fact that game would have put us over .500 and back into the thick of the playoff race, Rhule fell flat on his face. I’m sure Tepper was beyond pissed. Then to follow it up by getting bitch slapped by the Dolphins essentially killing any hopes at a playoff birth all but sealed Rhule’s fate.

The classic influx of players to IR and the firing of Brady is just Rhule scrambling to make excuses to try and save his ass. Unless he somehow manages to win out and make the playoffs I’m sure he will be fired come black Monday.

I agree, and I think part of that is Rhule getting his "year 3" fixes forced into this season.  Moving on from Sam Darnold and Joe Brady during the season just tells me he isn't getting a 3rd year to fix these problems.  Tepper wants to see some actual improvement before committing to that.

Any experienced Panthers fan knows to not put any credibility in what Person says and it’s probably best to believe the opposite.

Yeah, I'm not saying Person is wrong, because anyone can guess given these circumstances, but Person's track record doesn't bespeak of accuracy.

    • Given that the immediate impact we need at edge. We almost certainly address that in Free agency, not in the draft. Same with Linebacker, unless Styles or Allen is still there at 19. I think the same for OT.  What is the position that we could draft in the 1st round and get immediate help in the first is how im approaching their decision-making  I know ill get dragged for this, but im thinking they go DT in the first. A guy that can play right away and be a complement to D.Brown to wreak havoc at the LOS.   So unless a top tier LB is there, I think DT will be the move.
    • I think people forget that by his last season Steve Smith had the ass and he played like it - and for no really good reason other than that other stars were emerging on the team and he didn't want to share the spot light.  He was more of a locker room distraction than he was worth. He went on to have great performances with the Ravens' but G-man made the right move allowing him to move on from here.  I personally think it was addition by subtraction and we don't have a super bowl run with Smith on the roster. Steve Smith remains a narcissist who I've never seen internalize his own culpability when it comes to his relationships with others - it's always somebody else's fault as to why he was forced to act like an asshole. This video is a product ad.  I'm cringed that either of these two Panther greats are party to it.
    • I think the ‘issue’ here is that we had two guys that clashed for several reasons. In some ways they were different, but in other ways they had a lot in common, and sadly they couldn’t see the forest for the trees. Sometimes when you have two people like that together they are either going to love or hate each other, and if it’s the latter, you need someone to mediate and hope the two individuals are capable of putting their differences aside for the common good. In this instance, they couldn’t find a way to move forwards together because I don’t think either guy wanted to play second fiddle to the other. This video basically said neither guy had the tools to bridge that gap and mend that fence, and perhaps also were unwilling to give an inch at that stage in their lives and careers. So a divorce, while unfortunate, was always likely. Do we win the Super Bowl with Smitty and Cam? Well, it’s one of life’s big what ifs for us Panthers fans.
