Losing Out is the Way

Tf has Howell done? He was the third best QB in NC this year

This is your opinion. Many, many others do not share it. Completely gutted offense at Carolina this year and if it weren’t for “Big Time” Sammy Howell then UNC probably only wins 2 games all season. Watch college FB bro lol

I second that, lol top 3. He will be lucky to get drafted in round 1

Howell is a first round LOCK. Wouldn’t surprise me if he is the first or second QB off the board and we all Know QBs go early.

big time arm, tough, mobile, high IQ, moxie, everything you look for in a QB.

Hell no... we ain't losing out. Not by design anyway.

Besides if you want to draft a QB...next year is the draft for that.

Build up the damn Oline (and I mean build it STRONG), solidify the defense and have it ready for the Qb of the future if he's not currently on our roster.

That's why if I'm Rhule, I'm playing BC and Brown for the rest of the schedule to see exactly what we have to work with moving forward.

Top 5 are:

Pickett

Howell

Corral

Willis

Strong or Ridder

Willis is garbage. Only reason he’s not 5th is because of Strong’s bum leg.

Pickett’s stock is going to sky rocket at the combine. Howell’s experience at UNC for 3 years starting is going to be important. Also have to remember he lost about everyone but Josh Downs before the season.

You people keep saying this BS and yet we are 22-38 the last four years and 5-31 after decent starts I’m the last four years. We have been a losing team for the past four years. Our culture is a losing team that gives up like our top 7 pick from 2020 that had to be benched to focus.

I mean stop acting like we aren’t a bottom tier team. Since Newton was drafted, we weren’t talking about draft slots until we got to 2018 when we finished 1-7.

Also, to those who say you shouldn’t want to lose or care about draft slots, we were 5-11 the last two years. Here’s what would have happened if we were 4-12 instead:

1. We’d have Justin Herbert at QB instead of Brown.

2. SF would have given us 3 1sts and 1 3rd for our pick. We’d have Slater, an extra 1st and 3rd in 2022 and an extra 1st in 2023 instead of Horn.

I’d 110% rather have gone 4-12 in both years than feeling good about our culture because we were 5-11.

If we drafted Herbert my guess is that we wouldn’t have had the draft slot to get 3 1sts from the niners the following year.

still though you’re right. Having Herbert changes the entire direction of this franchise. Matt rhule wanted to trade down, Hurney wanted Herbert. Matt rhule needs to be fired.

And even if we didn’t trade up for Herbert, fine. This staff double downed on their stupidity and passed on fields for Darnold. Too many mistakes to keep this staff in place. They need to go.

    • It's amazing how much yall can say the same things over and over and not annoy yourselves with it.
    • If you only look at measurables, Mingo and Legette might seem similar.  But when you actually look at them and watch them play, they aren't close to the same.   And this is coming from someone who is skeptical about Legette, although ultimately I believe he will work out.  I've just always disagreed with the comparisons to Mingo.   Mingo tests better than he plays/runs, whereas Legette plays/runs as well as he tests.
    • As bad as things were with the Panthers last year, we still had 4 other games outside of the 2 we won that we came very close to winning.  Could throw the Falcons game in there too, it was tied going into the 4th. I'm not really sure what to expect this year.  I don't think we'll make the playoffs.  However, we play in a very weak division where no team has a standout QB.  On paper, our OL should be good, and could be great if Ikem improves.  That alone could help mask a lot of problems on offense.  Should allow us to run the ball better.  Even if Bryce doesn't improve, the OL should at the very least give him more time to make the easy throws underneath and let a guy like Legette work his magic after the catch. And I think this defense in a 2nd year with Evero should, at the very least, be in the top 16.  I'm expecting our run defense to be as good as it has been in years. I think this team could push for 7-8 wins.  But it could also finish with 2 wins again.  That is just how the league works.  Jets offense was miserable last year, and yet they still won 7 games.   We won't really get a good feel of it until after the preseason, and even then, who knows.
