Earlier in the season, I remember saying "well at least we're good enough to beat bad teams".

Turns out we weren't.

We've lost like 5-6 games to really bad teams. We'd be entrenched in the playoffs if this were true, even if we weren't a real contender and couldn't beat good teams. Such a waste of a season

It's not just that we're bad, or that the teams we beat were that bad. It's the lies that it created along the way. That #2 defense rating? We give up very little passing yardage, because either your team is terrible and can't protect their QB, or you have a good team and you just run right over us in the rushing game. Not building up many yards against us? Hard to when we give you an average starting spot around your 43 yard line.

The wins that made Sam Darnold look great also made our defense look like the best since the '85 Bears.

This year, we beat the wounded and the witless, sometimes the wounded witless when we got lucky. This team was worse than last years and much worse than the year before's, we just got a very favorable schedule when it came to playing some teams that were just falling apart. Had we just faced the Jags and the Lions, we'd be deep in the playoff hunt right now.

And that's some crazy poo right there.

    • We have a Bryce Young problem and until it's resolved it's extremely hard to judge our coaching in any significant way. Canales has made mistakes, as any coach will, but he's also called plays that with even moderately average QB play would result in positive outcomes.  Canales' biggest "mistake" is trusting Bryce at all, but then, maybe he's just ensuring he has a new QB to work with next year.  We aren't the only team where players run the wrong routes, we just are one of a couple with a bottom 30 QB.
    • I thought that too Ie trying to prove ‘look, he cant do it under the lights on the big stage’ honestly, im Not sure he is that bright  then again, how many coaches and  offenses have to  fail to prop up young before this ends  i blame both canales and young for that defensive carnage Monday night   Both of them  …and ill say too, if part of the problem is after 12 games into the season, the receivers are still too deep in their routes then either new receivers are needed Or new coaching or the routes are failures  or the qb or all 4  they have had preseason, mini camps, training camp, practice and the season their coach was a receivers coach and now the OC   and they still cant consistently complete a pass  not a good look he has business being the OC and HC he isnt McVay and he isnt Reid
    • That would’ve been even funnier and really summed up the night given it would’ve been an illegal forward pass.  Bryce is clearly throwing the ball forward to Chuba
