For who? We benched Sam and the offense looked much worse overall.

No bro. We benched Sam and the offense came to life. Albeit minimal life but better.

Hell, even Robbie could catch again.

Dude was on a 20 quarters without a TD streak..that's wild. Amazingly we still beat Atlanta during that span. He did manage to throw 2 his last game though.

Even if we build the line, they're going to blitz him the entire game.

Funny thing is, I legitimately thought we fleeced the Jets at one point. I have zero faith in Sam. And when the hits started most of his interceptions were threw when he had time. BUT hey that's our QB. They still believe they can fix him based off his first 3 games. We'll see.

The Panthers problem isn't quarterback. Darnold could be a Pro Bowl player with an adequate offensive line. Sam Darnold, Brady, Rodgers, doesn't matter. The Panthers would've been relative garbage with anyone. Add in the fact that McCaffrey was hurt and a dude was calling plays who would be hard pressed to be a Division 2 offensive coordinator.

No.  Darnold is not a Pro Bowl player, regardless of line.  No one has been able to teach Darnold to make decisions more quickly, which is his problem.  The three R's.  Read, Recognize, React.  He's a second slow on that and in the NFL, that's the difference between a Pro Bowl QB and backup.

that was the same guy who said it was most efficient to take a QB after the 1st round in another thread, I’d disregard

At the NFL level it all happens so quickly. The read is presnap. Once the ball is snapped, you basically have a split second to recognize what the D is doing. Everything that happens after that is pure reaction. If you're still thinking it's going to happen too slow.

Yes!  Is the Oline a problem? Sure it is, but QB is a bigger problem. If anybody needs proof just look at the Bengals. Their line is just as bad, but the difference is they have Burrow.

I wonder if McAdoo had been the OC or QB coach last year if he would have been able to convince the decision makers not to trade for Sam and/or the 5th year option.

If the Panthers had just rolled with Teddy, this team would be in a much better position right now with both space cap and draft picks (#38 pick for Sam is gone).

Rhule has been terrible at developing any player, not just Darnold. Most players on this team regressed. I think there may have been a window to fix Darnold with competent coaching, but that window is likely closed. Gase was terrible. Rhule has been worse. McAdoo, who knows what he can do, but I hold no illusions he will be able to correct Darnolds flaws. At this point, he's an 18m paperweight.

Truth. Shaq is probably the only guy on the roster who I might honestly argue has improved under Rhule. Everyone else seems to be about the same or worse.

    • Here are more fun facts about Peyton Manning's rookie season: Peyton ranked 3rd in total passing yards, 5th in passing touchdowns, 4th in 1st-down completions, 11th in TD%, and 8th in completions that were 20 yards or more.  Now let's look at how Bryce compared to his peers: 20th in total passing yards, 28th in passing TDs, 21st in 1st-down completions, 31st in TD%, and 27th in completions that were 20 yards or more.  To put it mildly, Peyton showed plenty of flashes as a franchise quarterback. Bryce? Not so much, almost none at all, as a matter of fact. Oh, and Peyton is legit 6'4", literally head and shoulders above Bryce. I sometimes wonder if Bryce defenders are sentient at all.
