Do You Want Pickett as our franchise QB? Added Q: Regardless— would Corral and/or Willis be y/n?

  1. 1. Let’s get it on record. Pickett—yay or nay?

Ransom our pick to a team who falls in love with one of the top QBs and trade down.

If Sanfran was willing to give up 3 first rounders to move up to take Trey Lance I’m sure someone will make a similar trade if a guy like Pickett or Willis fall to us.

Recoup some of the picks we lost and an extra first and go all in on the offensive line. Roll with Sam and Cam again and see how they perform behind an upgraded line. Hopefully Rhule still gets fired and let the new a coaching staff draft a QB next year.

Trey Lance is a better prospect than Pickett. Nobody is trading the farm for Pickett or I’ll be shocked if they do.  I’d say willis and Trey are similar prospects except Trey is more prototype size at 6’4” 225lbs while Willis is 6 foot 220lbs. Both have accuracy issues but big arms and are mobile. Trey is more of a bruiser while Willis is more shifty. I don’t see anyone trading the farm for Willis because of his size.

Should probably word it as would you accept not do you want. LT or QB has been the concensus for months now. We are a mess in the short term. We may end up using the next two high picks on quarterback these fantasies about us falling into next years top pick are just that. We will probaby end up with 7-8 wins next season with how the division is shaping up. And I like Willis as a prospect but the way folks here are hyping him despite his obvious flaws while calling Pickett Jimmy Clausen is getting really boring.

If the panthers are hell bent on a QB I prefer Willis.  But none of the QBs wow me

Yep, me too... we need a dual threat QB and one that can scramble (run for his life).... hes the closest thing to Wilson, Jackson, Murry, Mahomes in that respect... not sure about his decision making abilities tho...  Willis should be the pick.

Six is a good spot for us.  I think we'll trade down and end up getting one of the QBs plus being able to get a couple more picks.

I keep seeing this over and over and over about trading down.  2 things here.  If we like a qb we are not trading down and hoping he falls to us at whatever spot we land at.  Secondly there isnt a player in this draft that someone is dying to get.  Especially at 6 where the price tag is going to be huge.   Now you can make the argument that Fitt may take pennies on the dollar just to recoup a pick or two but I doubt he does that seeing as he didnt take the bears good offer last season.  I think he knows how valuable a top 10 pick is.

I am just mentally preparing myself for these dumb motherfugers to spend 100 million on broke ass Armstead and picking Pickett at 6.  Rhule rolls him out there after a 1-4 start and ends up winning 6,7 games and pointing to progress so Tepper keeps him for year 4.   Talk me off that ledge

If we’re taking a QB at 6 then I’d rather it be Corral and then Willis. Corral has plenty of arm. He looks like a combo of Zach Wilson and Russell Wilson. I think he’s gonna explode after his workouts assuming he’s healthy.

Willis is the closest comp to Vick I’ve seen. He’s 6 feet. He’s blazing. He has a cannon. He isn’t built like Lamar Jackson but is equally as quick. He’s thick in his hips and upper legs so I don’t think he’s going to be injury-prone. If the right staff gets him then I think he could be a really good QB in the future.

Pickett has zero characteristics that excite me. None.

You left off option c.

C. Do not care because it's a Rhule selection.

I'm quickly falling into the worst thing for a franchise - a fan that has given up hope and just doesn't care anymore.

If the Panthers continue to be amateur hour with horrible decision making, I'll find something else to do with my time.

Pickett is actually an underrated scrambler who is one of the best at keeping his eyes downfield and throwing off the run.

    • Fees nowadays are ridiculous. After purchasing concert tickets for my son’s 18th birthday and paying the rest of our HHI trip with 3 other families, I’m shocked at how much they are. Honestly, it’s grand theft. Some is taxes but in a world where everything is electronic, fees should be cheaper. Electrons don’t cost 10-30% of the event.
    • Nope, that’s not the disconnect. In 2022, our GM knew he was going QB in the 2023 draft. You are talking about risking fans involvement on a team that’s been basically bottom 3 in the NFL from 2018 to now. There is no risk when you are that bad. We were right to want Fitterer to tank in 2022 and get rid of anyone who could bring us big value and extra cap room for future years when we aren’t winning 2-7 wins a year. We knew we wanted a rookie QB so we didn’t trade assets for picks and get a better draft slot so we ended up only getting a 2nd for Burns and threw in DJ Moore plus an early 2nd instead of a 1st, which basically lost us an early 2nd. The “risk” to our franchise’s losing culture ended up being around 4 1sts of total value. Yep, I refuse to listen to the other perspective that lost us around 4 1sts of value. At least our fan involvement is so high that our stadium isn’t chock full of visiting fans since we’ve won so much since 2022. Again, you won’t change my mind that we should have tanked in 2022 and had another 2-4 Browns/Horns on this team.
