Interesting. Mr. Can't Judge By One Game wants to now judge by one game. Like I said, I knew what I was working with.

I'm proving your standard is stupid. Don't be dim. I judge him by his entire body of work, and I think he's got a decent but not great arm, weird throwing motion, and was an inconsistent producer despite top-tier development and a great offensive coach. Like I said, I think he can be okay starter, but I think the ceiling is limited.

Sure we are. We love QBs with massive red flags that we wrongly think we can magically fix.

"Massive red flags" huh? He's a boom/bust project and definitely risky but there are no red flags I know of.

SO we pass on fields and go after Liberty's starting QB.  Seriously, I get it.  Willis has a lot of tools, just not sure he will adjust to the NFL as we all hope.  Fools gold?

Justin Fields throwing motion vs Willis's throwing motion are miles apart. Fields will continue to struggle in the NFL due to his slow low throwing motion. That played a huge role in all of his turnovers last year.

They thought they already had the franchise savior in Sam Darnold

I like Willis and would not be sad if we got him at 6…. Closer to draft time we might have to trade up for him …. Anyone see him helping the homeless guy after the combine..

has all the tools and seems like a great kid … I hope he is hungry and eager to be too qb in the league … aka I hope he got that dawg in him

His mechanics, decision making, reading a defense are not red flags?

All can be coached up hence the project label. Arm strength, speed, etc. cannot be coached up, missing those or off field issues would be red flags

    • I think Indiana will win it all but Miami should give them a much better fight than Oregon did.
    • When I tell people I was at that game, they usually say oh that’s so cool you had the experience. I call it soul crushing. Why? The weeks and months leading up to it were great, the team was fun to watch every week…some weeks the offense was unstoppable and carried the team (saints and giants road games), other times the defense carried the load (jaguars, tampa). Lots of back and forth games against good teams (Seattle and Indy). Good young players on the team, but the veteran leadership was incredible…from Cam, Olsen, Kalil and J Stew to Luke, TD, Norman, Tillman, Jared Allen, CJ. Role players like Fozzy Whitaker, Cotchery (he caught that MFer), Philly brown, Kyle love, AJ Klein, and so on.  The Friday before the nfc championship my wife and I after a few drinks said let’s see what prices look like for flights/accommodations and we got to talking about how much prices would increase if we waited until we found out if we would be in the big game. We said screw it, we are only out $200 if we have to cancel.  Of course we come out and just pulverized the cardinals in front of the most raucous crowd by far we’ve ever had. We had no idea what we would do for game tickets and then found out a neighbor who worked for the team could get us 2 for face value (each employee got two of their own for free, something cool that JR did).  But then the NFL mafia decided that the storyline of manning going out on top like Elway would give them more goodwill than a non traditional QB who didn’t connect with their target demo and the rest is history. I never have and never will watch that game again. I am just hoping I can see them win one in the 2nd half of my life.
