Welcome to the NFL, where everything's made up and the money doesn't matter

Right. How do you go from $84 million over the cap to $30 million under the cap and there not be serious future ramifications? Moves like that should completely ruin your future. Just do not get it.

I think it's less about that and more about we are a disaster of a team right now. The Lions and Browns have more of their poo together than us.

The lions no. The browns sure. But he turned them down as well. At minimum because of the cold weather and at ‘maximum’ because it’s Cleveland.

look at the teams he’s gravitated to. South Beach. Mardi Gras city. The ATL.

hes turned down some pretty great opportunities from hum drum cities like Pittsburgh in the process.

They will just continue to do the same thing, year after year after year.  The bill will eventually come due in like 2055 or some poo. We will all likely have been wiped out by then in the Great Lithium/Cobalt Wars of the 2030's lol.

The sad thing is I don't think players really look at it like we do. They just see," Oh, it's the Saints!!! WhoDat!!! They won a superbowl! Look at Michael Thomas and Kamara!!!!"" If I want to win I need to chose a winner." While, in reality, they won the superbowl in 2009 (13 years ago), Payton retired, Michael Thomas hasn't really played in 2 years and isn't as good, and Kamara will probably be suspended. All of that PLUS how can they possibly sign Armsted, Fuller, and take on Watson's contract? What about next year's cap? What about all the picks they just gave up? How can the Saints possibly be a good destination in their current state? I just don't see it. But, Watson will probably chose them because, Oh look we are Saints!!! Screw them Saints!!!!!!!!!!

They are already feeling it a little this year, not being able to re-sign Armstead (at least yet) and Williams.  Their depth behind Thomas is not very good and their dead cap figure continues to trend up.

    • I would say that seems like an odd comment from Morgan, but at the same time it's almost impossible to find a college QB declaring for the draft to have less physical ability than BY so you can assume almost anyone you bring in would be your go to QB sneak/designed run guy.
    • Gronk is the best TE of all time, but he also played with Brady. Clarke was great, but had Peyton and in an era TE's didn't make crazy money. Kittle is great, but the two times he's made the SB, he was still on his rookie contract for one, and the other the 49ers had Purdy on a cheap rookie deal which help them build the rest of the roster. So again, it's not about not wanting an elite TE, of course it would be nice.  But realistically, in today's NFL, unless that elite TE with a top end TE salary is on a team with a GOAT level QB and/or other serious cap savings (i.e. key players on rookie deals), then I think it's not a good use of cap space.
    • This place was the poo pre tepper with tons of hilarious posters like phillyB. Joined in the 2000s during the 07 season and have been here bitching about this team since. but yeah its sadly been dying a slow death, every time I come to this site I am surprised its still up. I think the 2015 season was the absolute peak, the Panthers and this board especially just haven't "felt" the same since then. Igo should really sell the board since he clearly doesn't care anymore. Also, Reddit blows and the Bryce defenders on there need Jesus.
