RG3 was a pro bowler his rookie year. I would take that. Injuries could derail anyone’s career.

RG3 was very good. I always thought so. However, I also believed he wouldn't survive the NFL if he continued to play that way. RG3 and Corral are almost exactly the same size and play with the same style. With players like that, you must ask yourself if they can still be as good if they play differently. If not then it's only a matter of time before the inevitable happens.

Give me Jimmy G and here’s why….

If he’s our next QB, it’s likely because he was cut by SF and we’ve signed him for the year or we’ve swapped Darnold for him. That wouldn’t tie us down to someone we’re unsure of or mortgage our future by trading picks. We can still go BPA at #6 and he’d be a nicel bridge to our next (hopeful franchise) QB in ‘23.

San Howell in a trade back scenario would be my next pick.

I’ve been on the Corral train out of this group for awhile now, but ultimately I want a LT and hope we draft a QB next year. Granted seeing another year of Darnold isn’t very appealing but I think we can really build a strong Oline with a LT for our rookie next year if we go this route

I concur person

If we can trade down and get an extra pick or so out of it from say Philly and Pickett is still there I say a combo of him and Linderbaum is extremely solid. Depending on who is there at 6 of course. If either Neal or Ekwonu is there either one should be the unquestioned pick.

    • Yeah, honestly being a long-term backup is at least as much about being a good lockerroom presence and accepting your role as a supporting piece and not being a greasy wheel as much as it does about ability. Backup QB requires a completely different mindset than the starter and some guys just can't make that switch. It doesn't make them bad guys or locker room cancers or anything like that, it just makes them not what you're looking for in a long-term backup. You bring in that type of guy to compete. You don't bring in that type of guy if you're not looking for competition.
    • Im saying its Tar Heel fans who would do that. I root for all Panthers to succeed regardless but college affiliation means zero to me
    • We have some good pieces.  Enough to be competitive week to week.  Coaching seems to be improving but they’ve made it much harder on themselves than needed.  There are very good reasons to be optimistic about the future. However, I don’t trust them yet.  Wins are odd looking and mostly ugly.  Our opponents have to have a bad day for us to hang with them.  A lot of that is because we still haven’t figured out the most important position and will continue until it’s solved. I think Morgan has done a nice job in both the draft and FA so far.  He’s getting better each day he’s in that position. As far as the players listed, I’m pretty much in agreement.  XL and Bryce are not performing the way they should at this point.  I will say XL could see more success in a vertical passing attack to better utilize his speed. And as always, Fug Tepper.
