Given our draft situation for this year, I consider this a home run. He’s got phenomenal upside. Let him learn the league and the offense for a while and then let’s see what we’ve got.

Effective picks so far:

1)Ickey

2) Sam Darnold

3) CJ Henderson

3) Matt Corall

I hate seeing all the negativity surrounding this kid already.
People already declaring him a career backup before he plays a snap.
How about we wait and just see what happens?
Maybe he’ll surprise us. If not there is always next year. But something tells me the coaching staff won’t force him out there till he is ready.

Corral will be a career backup in the NFL imo. His deep ball is up for grabs nearly every time, and the NFL will turn you into an interception machine if that's the case.

He does need work on his deep ball but then I see 70 yard bombs like this and go hmm

6:26

he’s obviously got some big time arm talent and a crazy quick release. He’s gonna need some time in a pro style offense but one of my biggest worries about him is he is reckless running the ball. He needs to be coached out of that or he’s gonna get killed.

Why does this video say he's 6'2?

@RJK

@shaq

@Sean Payton's Vicodin

@Matthias

@MillionDollarCam

@4Corners Not surprised

@Centerfield

Why can't any of you be positive just for once.

I wasn't a fan of his, no specific reason, but I am 100% on board.  Go watch the Chris Simm's video.  He's a lot smarter than most of us when it comes to QB.

Can't you at least wait until 1 OTA before you start trashing him.

What I find funny other than one or two of you.  You offer no real reason other than to hate.

If you dislike this team so much go to another #$%$#%$^$@@#  Team.

After seeing that Corral was the pick, it reminded me of an interview that McAdoo did a couple of weeks ago. At the time, I immediately thought of Corral. McAdoo was foreshadowing this pick.

Here's what he said:

“I’m a big swing for the fences kind of guy, so just because you’re ready doesn’t mean you’re going to be the best. Ready does factor in some scenarios. I think experience obviously helps, the more games that you play helps. Experiences in what type of systems you played in may help some guys over others. At the end of the day, you have to pick a player that you’re going to be happy with at that position hopefully for the next decade. Readiness plays a part but is not everything.”

McAdoo also mentioned how some quarterbacks will be in a better position than other due to the systems they played in at college. The one quarterback that has the most question marks surrounding the transition to the NFL because of the offense he played in is Ole Miss quarterback Matt Corral. Lane Kiffin runs a very simplified offense that really runs through the RPO and dinks and dunks in the passing game. Is that a turn off for someone like McAdoo? Maybe, but he did say being in those types of offenses can be beneficial.

"When these guys play in these RPO offenses, they usually have a pretty good feel on where to go with the ball and they pull the trigger pretty quickly. I think those are two things that are very valuable in this league."

Just now, Panthers Rhule said:

He measured 6'2", 212 lbs.

If you watch the Simms' video he talks about him being bigger than he expected too.

Yeah I know he kind of has a Zach Wilson type frame. Which is fine but the dude tries to truck linebackers and needs to stop that if he wants to stay healthy.

    • While I hated keeping Rhule, I thought if he still kept sucking, it would be an easy path to number 1. Firing him 5 games into the season then winning meaningless games just made it worse. We weren't making a deep run even if we made the wildcard with a losing record. That whole season was pointless, but at least I was optimistic an owner with 1/4 of a brain couldn't muck it up. Ahhh Dave....
    • I'm sure someone will bring up Peyton Manning soon enough, like a 6'5" gunslinger has anything to do with a 5'10" game manager
