Round 3 Pick 94: Panthers Select Matt Corral - QB Ole Miss

The only way they get anyone else in that QB room is if they get rid of Sam, which they can't/won't do because of how much they've invested in him and that no one will take him. They are essentially stuck with him and that contract. They'll try to make the best of it and he'll help take the pressure off Corral to start right away.

But we need to get away from this idea that they might bring another vet in or, even less likely, trade for someone. Baker ain't coming here. Neither is Jimmy G.

The only other QB that might join the locker room is Cam and i don't even see that happening.

And they aren't getting rid of PJ, either, mainly for sentimental reasons rhule has.

Him getting into a fight in high school or getting drunk in high school/college doesn't bother me.  The depression thing could be an issue, but if he is talented, probably worth taking a shot.

If he doesn’t visit this forum the depression stuff probably won’t pop up.

Doubt they trade. I could see them sign Mayfield once he's cut.

Won’t happen and seriously I would rather have Sam working with Matt than Baker any day.  Baker is an azhole.

First thing we should teach Corral…slide and if it isn’t there throw it in the stands.  He has to get the 20 to 30 yard throws there with better accuracy,  he will need time.

Yeah that's the first thing they will have to work out of him.

They'll have to get him on a weight and conditioning program that's going to help him survive in the NFL.

I still think he's a full season project to get ready for live bullets. Maybe I'm wrong and he adapts quickly. I'm just happy we have something to watch other than Sam failing miserably. Although I'm still not convinced they don't trade for someone else to start the season.

It takes 2-3 years to groom a NFL QB. Cam Newton did not have a winning season until season 3. That is our biggest issue, we are still a ways away.

I am just asking, for God's sake, give the man an opportunity and don't piss on him if he isn't successful right away. Too many of you give up on a player in their rookie year.

That really shouldn't happen. As a 3rd rounder, his expectation should be solid backup QB. Expecting more than that is unfair(see Grier, Will).

Anything more than that just means it was a better and better draft pick.

Yeah, people here are so used to us not even taking shots at QB's in the draft that it's getting a little blown out of proportion, also with Darnold sucking and all the FA QB whiffs in general it's got people on edge. In Fitts presser about Corral I think he was trying to slow things down, and basically get back on track with a realistic way of grooming a QB. Corral at the same time is a competitor and he's not gonna hold back on trying to beat Darnold out of the job, so that's great even if he's a bust. Darnold had it too easy last offseason.

In my head i have come to accept all of that. The thought of watching Sam down his swan song as a starting qb next season doesn't trigger me like so many on here.  I've watched much worse.

My heart wants PJ on the practice squad or in the USFL. He serves absolutely no purpose on this team. Sorry PJ, just business.

    • Clean ACLs really are not. He is already running on it. There are more complicated injuries where ACLs tear with other things that can cause more serious injuries. I think that’s where the confusion comes in.
    • Try to reduce the amount of soda that you consume on a daily basis. Soda is packed with sugars and carbohydrates, which can cause cause a poor reaction with your skin. Instead of soda, try drinking water or flavored water as an alternative to your meals during the day or night. Try using some kind of mist moisturizer instead of just using plain water. Plain water only hydrates your skin for a short while and will end up drying out your skin. Moisturizing your skin with a mist form of it is a lot easier to apply then a topical cream. Finding the right product for your skin type is a very important factor in making your skin look nice and healthy. If you have dry skin, you would not want to use products that were designed for oily skin. Make sure you research what the products you use are for, and your skin will thank you for it. After you take a shower or a bath or just wash your face, pat dry with a soft towel. Vigorous rubbing will damage the skin. In addition, leaving a little bit of water on your skin will help keep it from drying out and make it easier to apply an after-shower moisturizer. • I was thinking Adoree too. I don't want to fixate on one specific guy, just go get the best cost option for this year and roll with it
