Depends on injuries but he needs to learn a lot and needs to get stronger before he will avoid getting hurt himself. Look at the qbs who were supposedly better last year and how they did. Corral won't be ready this year and we need to get our 18 million out of Darnold who will be improved.

I was initially high on corral and then I started learning more about him.

The guy is small, his wonderlic score was terrible, and he struggles to make accurate intermediate throws. Not a good combo.

He might start this year but he’ll ultimately just contribute to getting us a high pick next year.

If he’s even remotely close to Darnold then he’s starting. He’s more of a gamer than Darnold so his best stuff is going to be on the fly during games.

However…best case scenario would be that Darnold piddles along (Alex Smith style) and rides the running game and D to a good record and top of the division. Corral shows his promise around mid season and replaces Darnold to elevate the offense.

I don't even know, but if I had to guess I'd think that Corral will be the starter by some point in November. I don't believe that the FO will be rushed to give him the reins because Rhule's seat was not as hot as has been advertised. As long as we're showing gradual improvement as a team, Tepper will be patient well into 2023.

    • Yup. Hopefully  Brandon adds some muscle this off-season but he'll probably be resting his shoulder for a while so I doubt it. Miles should probably be replaced but I don't think we find a better 4th option to be honest. So is it better to add depth along side williams and Coby or try to upgrade the 4/5 . I think adding depth will probably be more beneficial than trying to upgrade starters and bank on Brandon and Kons continuing development. I really don't think they are going to make the playoffs unfortunately. I think the big hole they put themselves in has exhausted them. They've been amazing since January 1 but I think it's come at a cost and their legs are gone.
    • The issue is the predictability of it all in a Bryce Young led offense. In 4th down attempts the Jets were at 41 and we were at 40. And we were 4th in conversation %. We were 25th in the league in 3rd down conversion because we faced so many 3rd and longs in part due to playcalling on 1st and 2nd down but more largely due to the limitations that cannot be overcome.  And people want us to spend another 1st rounder on WR as if it is going to magically give Bryce physical talent he will never possess. It's a shame we cut off our own nose just to put ourselves in this frustrating predicament.
