NGL, I was surprised by that aspect because when you saw him command the huddle and pregame speeches in NO, he had tons of charisma and a surprising amount of bravado.  I know that doesn't translate necessarily, but he was so flat on TV, it was a huge contrast.  It's definitely a different world, which is why they shouldn't be handing these jobs out without a proven amount of time and experience in doing it.

Greg had been doing the spots for NFLN and Fox before he was even retired and even the longtime TV guys were going on about how good he is, and yet, Mr. Toupee here and Brady are raking in huge deals and displacing guys despite having no experience with it.  Imagine how Rodney Harrison (F him, by the way) feels.  He got ousted out of the studio for THAT, and now they fire him after one year.😂

Kevin Greene had the same issue.

Super charismatic guy in life. On TV though, just never looked comfortable.

Brees' football knowledge is top notch. I don't think anyone doubts that.

But to be a TV guy you need charisma too.

He was kinda lacking on that front.

As I think Brady will too.

as does Romo.

Nope not even close. Maybe for you personally, but ratings have proven he’s the best.

If it wasn’t for Aikman’s knowledge and Collinworth’s stories they’d be trash too, and kind of are in a lot of ways.

Other than Romo…they are all kind of bad imo.

He just has zero personality on TV.  Being unlikeable might be better, because people would tune in to hate him.

True-ish but the entire tune in to hate on him thing only works for some people and others just avoid. It's not like he is Stern at his height at ABC, he was doing stuff every day that people wanted to complain about. If you hate Brees then what is the point of spending any time with him in your ear? I would watch him play to see if he got hit but there is no win if he is just talking. Too easy to mute.

    • This team once again got tunnel vision on one guy. This might be my biggest issue with the trade. It points to the same behavior that led us to drafting the fewest prospects in the league over the past 3 years. They need to let the draft come to them and stop chasing ‘their guys’.
    • Hopefully legette pick will put Mingo on notice
    • Buffalo was in need of a WR, and after Pearsall was drafted, the Panthers may have figured that a team needing a WR (like the Panthers, for example) could trade up with Buffalo to get the fifth year option at the end of the first round.  Look at the teams picking early in the second round and look at the big board.  There is going to be a run on WRs.  This not only provided the Panthers with the fifth-year option, but it assured them that nobody was going to deal with Buffalo, and Buffalo was not going to take Legette.  So Bean decided to upgrade his day three sixth rounder to a fifth, and Morgan got his guy and the fifth year option.  Win Win.  Obviously Buffalo was open for business, so if you consider the fact that Buffalo might have been getting calls for the pick, Morgan switched places with Buffalo.  It is likely that Buffalo did not want to drop farther than 33, so they dealt with Carolina--dealing with anyone else would risk losing Mitchell, the guy they probably covet (or Ladd).  The ONLY team who was assured they are not going to lose their guy is Buffalo.  I am not sure this deal goes down unless Morgan tells Bean who he was going to take and that Beane trusted Morgan's word.  After pick 33.... Pick 34.  New England needs a receiver. Pick 36.  Washington needs a receiver. Pick 37.  Chargers need multiple receivers. Pick 44.  Raiders need a receiver. Pick 45. Saints need a receiver. The NFL Draft ESPN Big board for "Best Remaining" Players features 3 Wide Receivers in the next 7 picks.  I am guessing that Buffalo wants Mitchell, and when the Panthers decided to go with Legette, they were willing to deal.
