How prepared are you for another hilariously miserable season?

Unless it is significant capital, trading for Baker wouldn't even be one of the top 10 dumbest things we have done under the Rhule era.

Might want to review Dumb History of the Panthers under Rhule. It's a long list.

Yep,

I'm hoping to see significant improvement on the offense, with a new OC and assistants.  That is, if the line gels and whatever QB the team settles on can consistently move the ball without constantly turning it over.

The defense's Achilles heel will be its inability to stop the run.  Not sure anything meaningful has been done to address this problem during the off season.  Snow is the best of Rhule's bad lot.  Regardless, he's not the answer on D and should have been replaced during the off season IMHO.

3-7 wins, another losing season.

Yeah, if there aren't meaningful improvements SOMEWHERE, I just don't see how this isn't any easy thing to blow up in the offseason.

But, I'm not David Tepper either. I do actually somewhat understand what I am looking at on the football field.

I've been prepared for a long stretch of losing ever since Tepper took over.  From what I've seen so far this season will be no different.

I feel so duped by Tepper, Even after all his dog water decision I could always say that he is at least investing 100's of millions into a new practice facility... couldn't even do that right, the rumors were very true, the guy is a cheap scape and yet the wealthiest owner in the league.... Just an honest to god terrible person in every aspect.

I'm prepared for another rendition of the Keystone Kops. I grew up watching the Cardinals when they were in St. Louis, so losing is not a new concept for me.

I have an advantage of most of you, since the Panthers are not on our Sunday schedule much out here and I don't have enough appreciation for the NFL anymore to pay to make more games available.  If they are on, I will watch them.  I don't watch many non-Panthers games.

Prepare? Uh ... we've been trash since day one sans a few seasons. Can't even have back to back winning seasons. This is par for the course!

You need to ask ... are you prepared to (one day) see the Panthers be a success! And that I'd say: wow ... no I'm not. I'll have to shuffle Sunday plans from time to time, buy a jersey, head down to CLT to see a game here and there, follow talk radio again, get into what TV guys are saying.

That sounds like a lot of work.

My expectations are relatively low, and as I realize that anything can happen, I'm mentally prepared for another wreck of a season. That being said, I'm guardedly optimistic that we can be better than last season.

Pretty much where I'm at.

My expectation is that we win around 6 games. We're a bad QB team, but we'll beat some other bad QB teams because we've been drafting high for some time now. We'll run into to teams that have less talent and are rebuilding. That being said, I fully expect an awful season. Unless Sam has somehow learned how to play QB we're toast.

    • Just another 1st round QB that never paid off for the team that drafted them or traded for them. It's been like this since the SB began. 36 QBs have now won the SB & only 13 of them have been 1st rounders winning with their original team. Namath 1968, Griese 1972, Bradshaw 1974, McMahon 1985, Simms 1986, Aikman 1992, Elway 1997, Roethlisberger 2005, P.Manning 2006, E.Manning 2007, Rodgers 2010, Flacco 2012, & Mahomes 2019. Only 3 have taken longer than 5 seasons as the starter to win a SB.  4  6  5  4  6  4  15  2  9  4  3  5  2 [the years it takes for these 1st round QBs] 5  1  4  1  3  1  1  2  3  4  [10 of the 36 have won a chip with their 1st team that haven't been drafted in the 1st round. These are the years it took them as a starter] What stands out? Only 2 of these QBs have lost their first championship appearance. Elway took 4 years as a 1st rounder & Hurts took 2 years as a 2nd rounder. Of the 10 non-1st round QBs, 2 are 2nd rounders, 3 are 3rd rounders, 5 are 6th rounders or later. Please stop wasting time on drafting 1st round QBs with such a high failure rate. The remaining 13 QBs are traded or free agent signings. Stafford, Favre, Young, Williams and Dawson are the 5 trades. Peyton Manning & Tom Brady also won for teams as free agents on a short stay as well as being drafted. The lesson here is don't waste your franchise on farming up 1st rounders for the league, and steer clear of trading for a franchise QB. Stick to finding that championship QB by drafting them outside of the 1st round or through free agency.
    • I lost most of the respect I had for Fox in 2010. He should have resigned if he hated the job that much. Instead he stuck for his paycheck and let stuff go to hell.    I burned out on Ron too but my deal breaker issue with him was away from football and after he was gone from the Panthers. He may have been out of his depth but never quit on us.
    • From where they were one year ago to now, pretty incredible. I mean, say what you want about Vrabel he is no Jerrod Mayo.
