Training Camp QB predictions..

So, we have actual competition at QB and not just babying Sam Darnold in the hopes his feelings mend and he improves. (Last season)

So, does Sam hold Baker off or is it Baker Baker Baker right out of the gate.

Also, backup QB. Do the Panthers keep 3 on the roster? They have to right? No way Corral passes waivers.

I’m beyond thrilled at the thought of PJ not being on the roster

I’ll believe it when I see it.  Rhule has managed everything about the QB position horribly.  I got no faith that changes.  We just pointlessly added Baker.  So I suspect Rhule will continue to make Corral as pointless as possible.

I think PJ has crazy high odds of being on the practice squad.  Rules allow it now.   Corral is on the regular roster and plays the role of emergency QB most of the season.

Im sure it will be a "battle" until Sam get those happy feet and we turn to Baker for the rest of the season.. I assume it will happen in Traninig camp or during a preseason game..

no way Baker isn't starting week 1 vs Browns

Do we?

I know that's the official story but I think reality is that barring injury or something crazy, the starting job belongs to Mayfield.

As far as the rest, I agree Rhule won't want to let go of PJ Walker. This year, that probably means practice squad.

I think the fact Baker is gathering all the skill positions to work out with says hes either very confident hes going to beat out Sam or the coaching staff has already told him hes most likely going to be the starter, or both.

Agree. I think Sam is cut or traded. Corral will be the backup

I am about 1000% sure they told him he would be starting prior to the trade.

baker will be the QB day one against the browns. we'll win that one and the next week against the giants, but we won't win much more after that.

i seriously doubt we cut darnold. darnold is where baker was until someone was desperate enough to trade for him. the only team that is desperate enough to trade for darnold is trying to get rid of him.

and we'll find a way to keep PJ on the team...maybe practice squad?

if we try to put Corrall on the practice squad and PJ on the regular roster....

    • Purdy only passed for 127 yards week 18 and then only passed for 108 yards in the playoffs. In those two games he had 0 TD's and 2 INT's and a fumble. Mayes in the Superbowl had a total of 63 yards with 0 TDS at the 13 minute mark in the fourth quarter. He only had success when the Seahawks went into prevent defense. Philip Rivers only had 127 total yards in week 15. Boomer with the Vikings had 126 yards and 4 INTS in week 13. Cousins had 167 yrds week 14 and while it was over 150 yards, he also had 2 INTs with 0 TDs. Yeah Young didn't have a good game but neither did any of these other QBs. And while he had the lowest yardage, he was the only other QB that at least had a TD - Philips had the other.
    • He has to have a great year not a great few games...probably gonna have to finish with a winning record too for the first time as well. Front office has all the leverage, havent got much on the return for trading up in the draft no matter what bryce fans want to say. They have no reason to offer an extension right now. All the talk about his personality is just deflection off the talk about money. You can be the nicest guy in the world, it doesnt win games or make you a top 10 QB. They know that, spending all that money on the O line and drafting multiple offensive players in the first round of past drafts says a QB should have better production than what we have seen so far. We have to lean on a run game more to be productive in games rather than a qb we traded up to no.1 for. You can easily draft a more talented QB on a cheaper contract and get the same results bryce has given you so far. Thats the truth.
    • I will go out on a limb and say this was the biggest win since 06.
