Then why don’t you?

What exactly are you trying to do here?  I could care less how it looks if it truly protects players.  If anyone does care it won't be hard the the NFL's marketing department to spice them up while not sacrificing any safety.

What if technology like this meant Luke was still suiting up for us?  Is it bull crap then too?  Is it an eyesore?

What if technology like this could have kept Dan Morgan on the field?

What if technology like this could have kept Michael Oher on the field?

That's three pretty (*@$ good Panthers right there who would probably be more than happy to try something like this.

In theory I think they're great, however I do wonder if they will lead to more injuries once they're taken off.

Read an article the other day where one head coach (don't remember who) was concerned that the players will get into bad habits early in camp because they know they have that added protection there and thus end up using their helmet a little more than they should.

So when they come off, there is a potential of injury if you've built up some bad instinctive habits while going through camp with them on.

So get rid of helmets. Problem solved.

He’s making a joke about how you say you “could care less how it looks” when what I assume you mean is that you “couldn’t care less how it looks.”

He’s being a silly goose.

There's a whole line of thought that the problem is the helmets and the pads. I wonder if rugby and Aussie football have the same concussion problems that we do?

I was only being slightly tongue-in-cheek. I honestly believe the way to make the sport safer is to get rid of the helmets. The padding is a double-edged sword, it makes contact less violent on the body, but paradoxically enables the players to use their bodies more violently.

Take special teams as an example. You take the pads off people, you really gonna tell me two full-grown men will sprint directly at each other until they collide? But that's every kickoff and punt return with pads on.

    • Idk man, I think it’s necessary.  There’s people working 9-5s everyday that get told poo about what they aren’t and what they’re not capable of and they’re working for scraps.  These guys are making millions.  People are watching and invested because their team and fandom is a part of their identity and a big source of pride.  When someone like Bryce comes in and is given chance after chance after chance after proving he is not worthy of the position he’s being gifted, and he continues to be the biggest reason above any that we are losing, yeah…  I think it’s fair to call a spade a spade.  Am I saying Bryce the person is trash?  Bryce the person is a piece of poo?  Absolutely not.     I came up in an era, especially in basketball, where if you were fuging up people heckled the poo out of you.  I played in rec leagues as a teen where the fuging parents were calling kids trash and yelling poo like “TURNOVER!!!  TURNOVER!!!”  “CANT DRIBBLE!”  “CANT SHOOT!”  And that’s adults screaming that poo to kids like we were in the fuging Rucker lol.🤣🤣🤣  I went on to play basketball at a collegiate level and with professional players in different settings.  What those experiences as a kid taught me was to see if there is any merit to what people are saying, and if there is, then work my ass off til they can’t say that anymore.  Come back better, tougher, harder.  And I did.  If kids can figure that poo out, an adult calling another adult who is bad at his job while making millions and millions of dollars will be just fine.
    • I have tried to like this team, lord knows I have tried. BY9 is a nice young man, if I had a daughter he can take her to prom, but he ain't QB1 and he's not Cam or Delhomme Chuba is a average RB, he isn't Stephen Davis, he isn't J-Stew McMillan has the makings of a good WR, but he isn't 89/Moose D. Brown is a great player, but if the game was on the line I want Kris Jenkins       I miss this brand of football, even in the bad Jake games the games were entertaining It has been nearly 8 years now of watching numb football
    • I'm not so sure. Something about the whole Frank/Bryce situation seemed off from day 1. Bryce didn't fit Frank's QB mold as well as Stroud, then he basically gives up when Bryce is named starter in preseason but gets virtually no reps in games. Then he looks completely unprepared and Dalton steps in in Seattle, has a decent game under immense pressure, and it's right back to Bryce. All his mechanics are terrible and he's having the worst rookie season ever and Frank doesn't bench him?  You dont have to be a conspiracy theorist to know Bryce wasn't ready to be a day 1 starter. Everything with Bryce, then coaches, and the FO seemed forced.
