Pass rush anyone??

My concern is that before training camp, Scott alluded to DE and DT being needs that they needed to address… yet they haven’t bothered signing anyone.  Guessing Dunlap was the priority and when they lost him to KC, they didn’t have a backup plan and are now just waiting to see how things play out with YGM and/or scooping someone who gets cut from another team

We are thin on the interior and edges.  The linebackers are thin as well.  I'm still concerned about the run defense.

I’m not as worried because this same line and RB gashed us all game last year. I know it’s preseason but the runs to the edge that killed is all game were not there like last year.

We need to add some weight to our defense. I know, I know. They're built for speed. But with every run by WA the RB was able to gain an extra 3-4 yards after he was tackled and it didn't matter who their RB was. We'll never win those short yardage 3rd down conversions or goal line stands that way.

    • I thought Brown and Jackson were going to be the NTs. Pretty sure Wharton is more of a pass rusher maybe I'm wrong though
    • Turk signed a 3-year, $45M deal but in actuality it's at worst a 2-year, $30.25M w/ a $14.5M signing bonus. His ~$15M AAV puts him at 16th out of all DTs currently (DB is 4th). Milton Williams, for comparison, has an AAV of $26M on a 4-year, $104M deal that had $51M guaranteed at signing. His deal has an out after two years as well, meaning that it can also end up being a 2yr, $55M or 3yr, $79M deal. I can't remember which content creator (maybe Brett Kollman?) made it but there was a really good video on YouTube calling out how reporting the full details of deals was done more for the media to get reactions and eyeballs on the story.
    • Brown and Jackson pretty much protypical NTs. Brown started at NT last 2 seasons in 3-4. Jackson has only played NT in 3-4 in college. Brown could play any 3-4 line position but his quickness is suited for end. Our OLB are all best suited for 3-4
