CJ Stroud

Overthinking it. And I'm not a fan of drafting non-SEC qbs but Stroud is the guy to me...(at this moment).. Besides skill, accuracy, Whoever ends up coaching is going to fall in love with his leadership ability..

Furthermore... with the first 4 picks we could solidify our entire Offense. AND I gotta say as a side note this the perfect draft to need a playmaker.

Assuming we got that #1 pick...Realistically w/ luck we could leave the draft with Stroud/Young @ QB, Jahmyr Gibbs/Evans @ RB, Demus Jr/Addison @ WR and Jaheim Bell @ TE. Spend the rest of draft on defense.

Free Agency focus should be on Edge, Middle Linebacker and db depth. We could bargain bin and find the right guys...i.e Luvu.

We NEED playmakers on offense and tone setters on Defense..... but then again ...I'm not in the FO.. just my 2 cents. The board would probably have a melt down though if the day 1-2 draft was strictly offense.

I've seen enough batted balls this season. But who the hell knows, Cam led that statistic the beginning of his MVP year. And while Baker was leading the catergory, Josh Allen was only a couple away from taking that designation.

Iowa had only allowed 3 passing TDS all year going into this week. Penix Jr threw for four against UCLA like two weeks ago.

3 is always impressive, but the schedule has not been tough by any stretch of imagination:

Fields was a legit top 10 prospect. Not all prospects pan out and Chicago has proven to be one of the worst landing spots for a QB

...yea...hes been the best out of OSU over the last 25 yrs but CLT isn't a great landing spot either.. Andrew Luck knew that or well his father did...but Stroud does not have the 'it' factor at all...

Lots can happen between now the draft. Everyone thinks it’s a two QB race at the top with Stroud slightly ahead, but if the Panthers think the dude from Kentucky is the best don’t be shocked if he’s the one. No one would have suspected Trey Lance would have gone so high at this point in the 2020 college season.

Absolutely agree, I don’t think either of them can be used as an example of a top defense.

I agree that we need a backup, but you don't draft a backup with the first choice of the draft.

Well obviously you don’t draft him #1 with the idea of him being the backup. Reality is, Corral likely won’t get a real shot. It’ll be a competition that the #1 pick will win whether that is because of talent or draft position.

I didnt watch one play of stroud, saw his stat line, 4 tds 66% with 1 int and a 80 yard bomb against a top 10 defense.  Clicks on the huddle and their are posters saying he is a bust and is terrible.  Hmmm, huddle going huddle I guess

It's not always about stats. If it was, Mac Jones would've been hands down the #1 overall pick. I think Stroud is a much better prospect than Jones was (I thought Jones was a 3rd round type prospect) but I'm not convinced he's the slam dunk QB1 in this draft. Like I said earlier, Fields honestly looked better at OSU. Still waiting on Stroud to have that signature dominating performance against a top defense like Fields can Clemson. Notre Dame has a very good defense and they made Stroud look pedestrian. He didn't look bad against them but he didn't look like a guy I'm begging to draft at the top of the 1st either.

That game when Fields got knocked around and was Byron Leftwiching his team to the W was one of the top performances of the past decade. He was my QB2 that year and am sad to see how he's fared thus far in the NFL.

    • I think in all honestly, the final 2 games are carrying most of the weight in a lot of Bryce talk IMO.    During the window where he "blew it out of the water" window......were a lot of games where he was not above average.  AZ is largely one of those stat sheet games.   Where the stat sheet reflects QB play that didn't exist in the game.  That game was all Chuba.  Meh vs Dallas.  Meh vs Philly.  Meh vs Giants.  Probably average vs Tampa, Den, Saints.  Bryce made HUGE strides vs what he was.  We should be happy.   But when you start comparing him to the rest of the league.....people I think are going too far.  His best aspect in reality.....is his scrambling.  And that's probably not a great thing give his size.
    • Mays and Zavala looked lost in the Reich offense.  Granted Zalava was probably playing too soon due to injuries but he looked terrible.  This new staff seems to be doing well with our OL.  I also wonder if having two vets in Hunt and Lewis just made life that much easier on whoever was/is playing center.
    • What the Panthers should target in order (via free agency or via trade): 1. Julian Blackmon  2. Mike Hilton 3. Jaire Alexander 4. Jalen Ramsey
