Are you In favor of bring back Laviska Shenault next season?

Shenault is a good option for a 3 and 4 receiver set. He is not a 1 or 2.

I wanted Zylstra back. I want Shenault back. I would be happy if Zylstra and Shenault were the #3/#4 WRs. I am happy with DJ Moore as a #2.

The Panthers need a #1 playmaking WR with good hands. Wanted them to grab that receiver in the draft to role out the miracle season formula. No such luck with this front office.

I don’t think we are. DJ does great with the deep ball. We aren’t running him deep with Sam at QB. That’s just one example. DJ has been a 1k yard+ guy a year every year. He didn’t magically become lesser this season. It’s shoddy QB play. DJ is having his worse year as a full time guy, Robbie was having his worst year ever here, TMJ has been nothing, Shi Smith has been nothing, Tremble looks worse this year, this is easily the worst year of Laviskas career.

We aren’t coaching these guys to be lesser. We’ve even commented that this is the best offensive line we have had in a long time. So the QB is better protected, our run game is dominant at times, and yet we choose to dunk and dunk with Sam. When we even tried to throw the ball in goal line we had no success.

The Carolina Panthers offense, for years, has been limited by QB play. This year is no different.

I don’t believe Wilks and Mc are playing to everyone’s strengths on offense at all. If they were, not every pass catcher would be having their worst season this year.

Moore has never been this great deep ball pass catcher. I'm too lazy to look it up, but I'd bet that a preponderance of his catches throughout his career have been in the first and second level. He makes most of his lunch money with YAC. Not that he can't catch it deep, but he's proven to be a YAC monster. As for QB play, We've all seen this season. It has been disjointed with bad QB play. The offense has suffered, including D.J. But some of that is on D.J. too. Some of it's because of the lack of a consistent threat across from him as well. We've been in what seems like a continual state of flux this season, without a real identity, and without necesarily settled roles which has had detrimental effects on player development and growth. But, that doesn't mean that we shouldn't be prioritizing the run in favor of throwing it all over the yard. In today's game, we passed it when we had to, and still got a victory.  It's hard for me to argue that it's an indication that the coaches don't know the players' strengths.

I love this guy. Hes such a weird body type but plays with heart and fight every touch he gets. He might not be a 1 and 2 might be his ceiling but, I love him as a 3 or x factor type guy. I think we havent even scratched the surface of what he can do if he gets RB touches.

I like him too, I think it is more a matter of money.   I don't want to get stuck with some insane contract for a limited WR.

    • The era that you played in, and, more importantly, who you played with actually matters. Honestly, that's why these issues will be debated forever, as it's just difficult to say that this person or that person is better when you're discussing the passage of time. As for me, after Rice, Moss and maybe Megatron and T.O., there's probably a dozen or so guys that can be argued about to the cows come home. Personally, I'm not putting Fitz, Harrison, Johnson, Evans, or especially D-Hop, Jefferson, Chase or Hill definitely in front of Smitty (and Colston ain't even in the discussion). Context and all that stuff actually matters. Things like the triple crown matter.
    • Some of those guys? Yeah honestly you can.  I would 100% take Steve Smith over Larry Fitzgerald, Harrison, even Mike Evans. He is 100% a better player than those guys in his prime. If you look at the numbers Smith is historically under targeted in comparison to his contemporaries. He was only targeted 150 times or more only once in his career. Fitzgerald for example was targeted well above that 9 different seasons. Had Smith played with Peyton, Brady, Greatest Show on Turf, or even with Warner in Arizona he would broken records. His 2008 season was ridiculous accumulating 1400 yards in 13 games on less than 80 receptions. All time he also lost a season due to injury in 04, barely played WR as a rookie. Got robbed of 1k season with Clausen. Thats easily another 1800yds minimum that should have been tacked on to his #s. The only guys I’d say for certain are better than Smith are Rice, Moss, TO, Megatron, Julio Jones, Antonio Brown.
    • I parked in this lot a few times. It would take over and hour to get out of that lot after games. Never again
