Simple question..

Didn’t remember nor cared about Sam in NY.. But this is the most competent and confidence wise the best I’ve seen of Sam..

It also could be the beard Thoe..

Sam and his beard like Sampson and his hair hmmmm.

Or just not a really rough schedule for Sam so far and Sam has been a game manager

Sam has not really been tested or pushed it yet. And mcadoodoo hasn't really let him sling it when we can't run, so it is not like Sam nor McAdoo have some trust to air it out when we really need to.

We also saw a guy you could play with to start last year in Sam. Then we all saw how things went once CMC went down and he had pressure up the middle all game. Also they figure out what to do to get Sam off. We haven't reach that film level yet. If I were other DCs, I would make McAdoodoo have to air it out with Sam and not get beat by the run.

It's not like Sam went nuclear under mcdoodoo. Mcdoodoo  is poo as OC, and I wouldn't be thrilled with him as QB coach. Not like we saw anything from 3 other QBS this year. And if somehow he only gets thru to Sam, not worth keeping the pair at this rate.

It’s cliche but it’s amazing what an extra second and half can do for a QB that may not process the game as quick as other QB’s.

I don’t think there’s ever been a question about Darnold’s talent and ability to make every throw, it’s always been upstairs.

Obviously you’d like to have a QB that isn’t totally reliant on an all-star OL but Darnold is doing his job well over the past few weeks.

Probably his best game as a pro, or at least since his rookie year. He looked very different this game, both taking good scrambles but also finding deep targets. It is possible McAdoo is developing him, but he's ALWAYS been streaky.  Even compared to his good games last year, he was much better this game, but remember that didn't last last year either.  he'll need to be able to do this when our rushing game doesn't spot him 7.

No. He's running an offense that basically heavily de-emphasizes the QB position. 43 runs vs. 22 passes. Darnold has thrown less than 25 pass attempts in each of his starts in the post-Rhule era. He's doing a good job managing the game with what he's asked to do but the game plan revolves around asking him to do little.

Think that has to do more with Wilks than Darnold. I don’t expect Wilks to change his coaching philosophy for any QB not named Mahomes, Allen, or Burrow.

Yeah and he is a lower end game manager, at that.

Definitely has performed better than I thought he would but that bar was already subterranean.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
