Next Offensive and Defensive Coordinator

He needs to do better than anything he has connections to but I also expect a coaching crew built heavily on his connections. I would hope the OC came from outside of that but I would expect Holcomb to be his DC. I'm not sure he can put together a crew that would survive more than 2 years here regardless. Once the free pass of his interim year passes he projects as a very meh candidate who will make his players happy but I just can't see anything but mediocrity. The Holcomb as DC is a dealkiller for me personally but whatever, some people just have to learn the hard way.

Holcomb is Wilks choice. If Wilks gets the full-time job, he's not going anywhere.

I could see McAdoo sticking as a QB coach perhaps.

OC could be wide open.

I can see Wilks retaining MacAdoo if the offense produces well enough through the end of the season. Not my #1 option but wouldn’t surprise me. Sean Ryan has done a decent job as QB coach, so it wouldn’t surprise me if he’s retained, and the same goes for Campen. If there is to be a change at OC, then all of this is could be moot.

I agree on Holcomb though I would hope we’d upgrade or at least augment the rest of the defensive staff. I’d hope we’d go with more experienced position coaches on both sides specifically DB and WR coaching.

    • We're definitely not going to get the benefit of the whistle anytime soon. Teams have certainly been getting more physical with us since that first Pistons loss. We responded with many upcoming wins by playing very physical basketball ourselves. That's what it's going to take. If it means some fouls along the way so be it but the team has to set the tone. But either way we need more offense closer to the rim. We're right there with GS for most 3PA. And the Warriors are also backing their way into a play in game. We shouldn't be wanting to emulate that.
    • Honestly this feels like a coaching problem. They have a certain "type" with "flaws" that they believe can be coached, the issue is mingo, XL, and others have not took to this "coaching". I thought the one group panthers would excel in would be WR, given Dave, brad, and Moore backgrounds( WR coach was a solid NFL WR). Just a wealth of WR coaching, but........ I also feel BYs confidence in XL is one of the main issue, its their relationship. I think BY trust the following- tremble, Tmac, Coker and that's all(maybe new Metchie) . There was a vid and XL and BY were repping together. I do feel if you put XL with about any of the top QB, you'd see some good numbers at times and you'd see a NFL WR.
    • It's cooled off because teams are coming out and pressing them and fouling them 35ft out, the backup Knicks are holding jerseys and getting away with it and that's been a repeating theme over the last few weeks.    Teams are coming out and applying pressure closer to halfcourt, playing tough physical defense, grabbing jerseys and the like to get them out of rhythm and it's been effective.
