Ok folks. Here is the thread which will let us know who here is really in tune with what's happening.

Hit me with some 2023 off-season Predictions. Coaching, FA, Draft, all of it.

Coaching : Steichen (or Frank Reich....it's a coin flip for me)

FA : Re-signing Bozeman, and Foreman (they're both Free Agents, right? If not, I apologize)

Draft : We don't move up, stay put and draft BPA (but not QB) at #9.    They do draft a QB in the later rounds as an afterthought.

Unexpected move : Sam Darnold is re-signed as a backup to Matt Corral who will get his chance finally.

Rather see Eric Bieniemy as the next coach and draft Richardson out of Florida in the later rounds as my QB pick. Give Bienimy the chance to improve his throwing ability and give him a year or two to learn since he is has the arm strength and as mobile as Mahomes.

I think we finally trade up to get our QB. We have just failed too many times with this FA stuff. Teddy, Darnold, and Baker have all failed, for the most part. If I had to pick one I think we move up and grab Stroud. I do not think Levis, Stroud, or Young will be available at 9, so this is our move.

As far as coaching, gut feeling is we unfortunately keep Wilks. I would love to be wrong and get Johnson or Steichen

HC: Johnson (we have shown little interest in my #1 hope of Steichen)

FA: Bozeman or similar. Foreman or similar. Depends on contracts, might have to roll with more prove it type deals vs being able to dign them long term.

Cap Moves: Cut Shaq and Thomas.

Trade: Burns for 2 1st

Draft: Draft QB via teade if we have to do so, DE and TE.

Dream scenario.  Remember when we had Baker, Sam, and Corral and Corral got virtually zero snaps? Well that is what is going to happen to any qb we take in the draft. We need a starter, already have Corral, and then you want to hand over all of our draft picks for a 3rd qb? Doesn't make sense unless Young or Stroud drop. Anthony Richardson never developed as a qb in college; he is a loooooong term project. I could live with Levis at 9.

    • That was always the fear, expectation, concern, etc, I had.  Someone showed a still shot from his pick last game and said it showed that the defender closed 3 yards on that ball in the last portion of its flight. I forget the number. 10 yards I think it said but that sounds extreme.  When guys are open by a step, any slowing down to wait for the ball lets the defender back into the play. That sort of stuff makes the margins so small… these NFL CBs are not slow.   It is a league that highly values foot speed; the 40 times and drill times are scrutinized down to the hundredth of a second when evaluating these players on both sides of the passing game. Receivers and defenders both.   My thing with his arm strength (or anyone’s) was always “why do you want to do that? Plus pay extra picks to put yourself in that situation?”. Asking for trouble.     I wish there was a way to measure velocity on the back half of a throw compared to when it left the hand. Or really get accurate reading of the flight time of a ball from the near hash to the sideline, 10 yards down the field. Because teams could use that info. I have always seen this as being a disadvantage with Bryce but it is beyond my ability to quantify it.   I think it would show what that arm strength is really about, a lot more than just measuring how much air can you put under it so it will fly as far as possible.
    • Who didn't see that coming....
    • Its a detriment if he can't play...as we are seeing.
