Lamar could be gone……Article ahead.

It would cost less to trade with the bears and draft a QB. And it wouldn’t kill a team’s cap, already in cap hell. I’d rather take that shot. Trading for and then signing away the future to Lamar and not being able to build around him would be incredibly stupid.

We are no where near cap hell, not only is the cap incredibly easy to manipulate with a cash heavy owner, our cap space in 2024 and 2025 allow us tons of flexibility.

Great runner, pretty okay passed. Not worth what he wants in contract in my opinion. Whatever we would be willing to give up for him, I would instead offer to Philly for Jalen Hurts and then see if I could not sign their offensive coordinator that everyone is freaking out about to be the next coach.

Why would Philly give up Hurts?

So you going to go the “bargain” route? Sounds familiar.

I am not sure I will say Carr is gonna be a bargain. Very likely he will be rather expensive by our standards.

More like going the very good QB versus potentially elite QB route.

The problem with Lamar is you don't know if he is going to evolve into a largely pocket passer. That will eventually need to happen for longevity reasons. He doesn't take Cam level punishment but he takes more than a pocket passer typically does. So injuries are a concern.

Then it’s the matter of the fully guaranteed contract. That exacerbates the injury concerns. Is he really worth 40-45 mil of fully guaranteed money for 5-7 years? I can't definitively say yes. I think he COULD be worth that(especially with the cap is supposed to skyrocket). But then I look at the Broncos and Browns and wonder how much better off they are with their supposedly elite QB's they traded a King's ransom for.

This be would a very tough one for me personally if I had to make the decision. I would love to have Lamar but I can also see how that might set us into an even further spiral as a franchise.

For clarification....I only poo'd 1 post. And that was because in that post I was referred to as "girl". (By the way, AngieLean as gone back and poo'd 2 of my posts so far.  I guess he has a net win)

Because I had an opinion that they did not share, a couple of posters have made derogatory and disparaging  remarks about me. That is a line I decided not to tolerate.

Many of us have differing opinions here.  That is fine. Personal attacks are uncalled for.

My opinion was actually shared by some current and former players and NFL pundits.  As well as shared by other posters. Not everyone agrees, that is fine. We learn from other posters here...some of the time. No one is right all of the time.

So, Frank...I am not pooing posts over Lamar Jackson.

Things get chippy here and most of us are guilty in some capacity of attacking one anothers opinion it's the nature of sports fan is short for fanatic. I just thought it was funny seeing your handle attached to a poo emoji. But in regards to this discussion I must say the energy in here doesn't line up. Now I've seen some very weird excuses and building up of just flat out either bad or mediocre quarterbacks the last three or so odd years here. So to see people saying another is a quitter because he does not want to play through a knee injury is just not a good look for this community. There may be others in the sports world echoing this sentiment but when you consider one of them is probably Skip Bayless keep in mind that's who you're aligned with. Just something to chew on 🤷‍♂️

He may technically be right, but that's generally not something you say out loud...

What was the reason Lamar was not at the game at all?  Was this a team decision or did he just decide not to come and help his team in any way that he could?  If the latter I don't want anything to do with him on our team

Don't know, but there's been an awful lot of people asking that question.
