Per Rich Eisen: “The Bears are long down the road to trading the first overall pick. The teams have been identified, compensation is being hammered out.”

To the crowd screaming we can't trade 3 first or whatever, here are 3 of our previous first round picks.

Kelvin Benjamin.

Vernon Butler

Armanti Edwards

The draft is a crapshoot for a reason.

Armanti Edward wasn’t a first round pick… not even close….

To be fair you’re trading the picks for a higher pick which by your definition is a crapshoot. Also Armanti was like pick 80

Armanti Edwards was a 3rd round pick. We used our future second, which happened to be the 1st pick of the second round, but he was in no way a 1st rounder.

We did trade a 2nd rounder to get the pick we used on Armanti, after we drafted Clausen, that draft was terrible lol

This is a terrible, terrible argument.

Luke Kuechly, JC Horn, Ikem, Burns, Brown, Moore, Shaq*, Mccaffrey, Cam,  and Star were all more than worth it. You can’t cherry pick three random players from 13, 8 and 7 years ago and say “first round picks aren’t worth it”.

Everyone wanting this firmly believes Stroud is the franchise savior, I just don’t see it. Where are we getting this franchise saving profile from? He’s good, for sure, but he’s not this home run, knock it out of the park and forget it. In fact, would it shock anyone if he ends up being a Dak level qb?

Why aren’t more people on board with keeping future capital intact and taking (more than likely) the available Richardson or Levis. IF Rodgers moved to LV, I don’t think we have to move at all. Sorry, I guess I’m just not fully on board with having no real capital for the next three years.

Yeah I mean why would we want a career 67% passer, a little over 4k yards a season, 2.5:1 TD:Int ratio and almost 100 QB Rating

Is he Pat Mahomes? No, he's pretty fuging good though and the fact that you think ending up like Dak is a DOWNSIDE is hilarious.

    • After last season, it was the same question. And the answer most people came to was "If he doesn't make the playoffs, he's gone." He made the playoffs. No matter how it was done, we made it to the playoffs. He's safe. He's going to have a chance to keep working this out, even if next season isn't a playoff one.  I think we'll do better next year than we did this season. There's something being built here.
    • The NBA is a very fickle league. Kon is one of the hottest rookies in years and beyond just his play on the court he is a very steady competitor and that translates to the rest of the team. That has been a glaring absence with the culture of this franchise through the bulk of the LaMelo Ball years that's just being completely blunt and realistic. The enigma of LaMelo Ball is he is entering year 6 and still either red hot or ice cold. We need him to find that sweet spot. Logic dictates the Hornets will want to see this core again next year. But the clock is beyond ticking at this point. It's put up or shut up. Especially considering what the Thunder managed to do recently. I'm hopeful they can keep these wins rolling in and get some much needed playoff experience under their belts which will help substantially.
    • I think as long as the Panthers are competitive with Canales they should keep him. Pepper needs to repair his/the teams image as a place prized free agents aren't hesitant to consider. Just dont do any crazy poo for a few years.
