I've never understood this legal tampering period why not just start free agency today if players and teams can work verbal deals.  Hopefully we can get a WR.

Basically just making what has always happened legal. Used to be most of the big name FAs would ink deals mere minutes into FA. Everyone knew that you weren't hammering out multi-year, multi-million dollar contracts in mere minutes. So now it looks better on the surface. It's all window dressing. There are already FAs who know where they're going and what they're getting.

And if I'm not mistaken teams can only speak with agents and not the players directly.

Happy F5 day Panther fans!!

First and foremost, I am hoping to see Bradley Bozeman resigned before Noon. I would also like to see a WR brought in early. Someone along the lines of Darius Slayton or DJ Chark. Depth at RB and TE can be had late in the draft.

There will likely be a lot of defensive players brought in to help adjust to the new scheme. I would expect FAs from Indy and Denver to be top targets as the coaching staff is highly familiar with these players. Players like DE Yannick Ngakoue, LB Bobby Okereke, and CB Ronald Darby.

While the Panthers are mid-tier in terms of current cap space, look for these FAs to have back-loaded contracts as we have God-Tier Cap Space available next year. I fully expect us to be busier today than most people think.

    • Watching games this year again and Bryce missed a wide open XL many times and some of them were in the endzone. I get the kid has mental lapses and hasn't broke out yet, but this is year three on a rookie deal! Cutting bait now is too early. If he hasn't gained anymore trust from his QB, posted any highlights, little production, or outright gets beat out then we can talk movement.
    • Samesies   I truly may just cash completely out of Panther football if we give him a long term deal that isnt necessary.  I have watched NFL for 50 years now and I can without a shadow of a doubt say you cannot win consistently with BY.  Way too many limitations to deal with.   I may come back around in 3 years when the inevitable happens and all parties are either cut and/or fired.  Giving him a deal before this season so you hopefully can get him cheaper in case he "blows up" or if you truly believe that he will has to be the most moronic decision a gm can make when the evidence is laid before you with different players
    • This is the one! I was at that game and all KB had to do was lay down on the corner after the pick or make an obvious tag while he was down. He had already ran a lazy route. Then if Cam would've just walked to the sideline like most elite QBs instead of trying to make the tackle.  A lot of people bring up the TJ Watt hit, but he just reaggravated a bunch of scar tissue from that play. And every Cam hater said that the running did him in and it was a dive tackle attempt on an interception that initially began the shoulder deterioration. He still went to New England later and would've got them in the playoffs had their A team not sat out the covid year. We quit on him too early. But hey how good was Teddy? Am I right?
