I don't think Burns will underperform, I think he will thrive, but we've seen it happen before when the big contract gets put into place. 

I dont think its ever a bad idea to let players play to the end of their contract...

Dam real one he understands this game he’s been paid very very well. These are the sacrifices that build strong contending teams. He sees what’s coming star qb strong staff there has to be some quality pieces for a low cap hits.

Bingo we need to hit on our draft this year a couple key contributors and we’re lined up for it. Maybe just maybe a second yr Super Bowl run like top qbs so when things around them around truly in place. From coaching to the line to top talent at key spots De/Cb/Ol/Wr but I’ll take just being a contender for the next few years

Burns extension is probably going to be pretty tough after the news of that trade offer.

Interesting. Basically Shaq took his salary in 2023, spread it out to 2024 effectively giving us a "free year" and spreading the cap hit even more by adding the dummy years. Now granted it's not really a free year because we would've alternatively just cut him and he wouldn't have seen any of that salary, but he could've recouped that and perhaps more on a new free agent contract elsewhere. We basically ripped up his old contract and gave him a 2 year $12 million contract so it depends on whether you think he'd get more or less than that on the free agent market. This feels line a fair compromise for both sides.

Not to disagree, but my thought is he may retire at seasons end, dont know how thats changes the dead money and such. just my guess.

      That’s really not what you said and when I even expressed doubt as to your intentions with the post you doubled down and remained unclear on whether you were trying to drag Dean Smith for whatever reason. You just got the facts wrong, which if you don’t follow the local college programs like you say then maybe you just were mistaken and thought Smith didn’t win championships or have legit superstars, and that is ok, but you just doubled down when my first post was more corrective than anything. I’m not sure what you expect posting objectively false things like “RBA has a lot of wins with nothing to show for it like Dean Smith” (paraphrasing) on a message board with plenty of UNC fans. I’m not taking it as a personal affront, we can agree to disagree, Dean Smith’s legacy fortunately will not be affected by this conversation. Screw the (Florida) Panthers?

      Bring in the free agents and trades.  Florida is the best team and unless Tulsky makes it happen, it’s more of the same…which isn’t bad…but it’s time to win a goddamn cup.
