Jason LaCanfora: Dave Tepper loves Bryce Young

Just curious what "get out of the way and let the football people work" looks like to Huddleville.

I mean it seems like anything besides making sure the checks don't bounce incurs Huddle Wrath and fears of Jerry Jones.

Not trying to take up for him but hopefully the Huddlers who are bosses/managers are just as hands off with their employees as they hope Tepper is with his.

So the head coach and the man ultimately in charge of the offense the one calling plays this year should stay tf out it hmmmm sounds crazy to me.

Darnold trade was pure idiotic he was 30th in QBR before coming here next season here, he was 31st lol. It made no sense to get Sam but Matt had the wool pulled over DT eyes

Reich is a superior offense play call designer. Absolutely NOT a QB guru. People on this forum made that up for some reason. It’s not the same.

You can't go wrong with either one.

Neither would be a collosal mistake.

Both will be elite.

I agree with this except "will" needs to be changed to "could" and it's more accurate, neither are a slam dunk by any means.

Which is why I lean Stroud

No, he's no guarantee to stay healthier, longer, but his size gives him a better possibility of that happening.

Size isn't the end factor in it all, just part of the equation just like every other aspect that goes into evaluating the two.  I have them basically about even if you remove the size factor, once you add that onto the scales, they tip in favor of Stroud for me.

Again, if it was between Young and either Levis or AR, then that size factor is outweighed on the scales by the rest of what makes Young great in comparison to the other two.

Tepper has let his coaches make their own choices to their detriment in the past. Feels like he’s treated as a boogeyman in this regard when his issue has been hiring dumb people who make bad decisions. He’s feeling himself about this staff he’ll let them make their decision.

FWIW, I get the vibe that.....

  • Brown and Caldwell know that Bryce is the better choice.
  • I think McCown wants Stroud.
  • Reich and Fitts are connected now and will end up being the final call, IMO.
  • The Teppers have done a better job this offseason of asking what Fitty and Reich need and providing the resources to accomplish this. I think they 100% have input, but inevitably will fade into the background after putting in their two pennies.

I think Reich will entrust Brown, McCown, Caldwell and Dekker to put in their thoughts and come to a final decision. Reich will then discuss with Fitterer and finalize our future QB1.

    • My long and rambling post:   The guy is all heart, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he came back even better next year. He’s exactly the guy you lock up. The money won’t ever change the way he plays.  It was a big fumble, but what 1,000 yard back fumbles once in an entire season?  Pride. This team is FINALLY seeing guys who obviously take the game very seriously. Hunt, Chuba, Thielen, Brown, Horn (CB), Coker, Bryce (IMHO). Bye bye, Spider-Man. I don’t see these dudes being OK with teammates half-assing practice or in games. I can see Brown and Horn coming over to talk to somebody.  Good team? Ummm, maybe, but will still likely lose more close games than they win unless this last draft turns in to LOB part 2. That’s a stretch.  Pretty good/decent team. Yes. They finished the season as a pretty good team. I know I sound like a broken record harping back to it, but going in to ATL and putting a 40 burger on them en route to an OT win. A bad Panthers team would have had their brakes beaten off. We’ve seen it.  Rose colored glasses on and bonging a 40 of hopium: There are watershed moments that occur that change the course of franchises, both good and bad. If Fox doesn’t pull Rodney at halftime, the epic journey that was 2003 never happens. On the negative side, Cam taking that one hit from Watt was the end of any and all Panthers relevancy and we’ve been the biggest losers in all of pro sports as a result. Watershed moments. LOB draft. Vinny goes down and the goat is born.  Will the ATL game be the spark that this franchise has desperately needed? Could it be that they hit the mega million jackpot with Princley and Scourton as eat QBs for breakfast? Sure would be nice having 2 all-pro edge guys on the cheap for the next 4 years.  A lot of unknowns, but at least it actually feels  fun again.
    • Ok LT and Petersen are a cut above everyone else to me cmc and Faulk are interchangeable on this list.  though Faulk was better career wise
    • Maybe faked was too strong of a word.  "Milked" may be the better way to call it.
