People acting like guys like Simpson are first round picks when 32 teams have passed over him multiple times now.

Its one thing if a few things pass on you...But if every team does multiple times? Then that should tell you something.

This has been a pretty disappointing second day. Reached for both picks. No sure why we had to move up to get this guy.

Mingo wasn't a reach. You will be in for a suprise. This one is a little bit of a head scratcher but its end of 3rd round. It's not that big of a deal.

Multiple outlets had him as an end of 1st round grade. You don’t need to trade up for a 25 year old rookie, he’ll be too old to even warrant a second contract

So we get a pro ready DE on a rookie contract for 4 years? Awesome!

Fans really think they have the inside scoop more than a team of scouts. Trust the front office.

Lol, because we’ve been so good at drafting the past few years that we should never question them? I’d take Simpson or Washington over DJ, but oh well, he’s our guy.

Definitely could have been gone before 93, been a bit of a run on these rushing OLBs. I like the pick based on what they said about him on nfln and his physical profile. We’ll see how he develops

He's 25 this year - not much development left I'm afraid.

I feel like if a 6th year Sr is gonna be drafted, he needed to put up good numbers at least. Johnson doesn't even have that. I'm just a fan obviously, but I can't make myself like this pick.

Fitterer must have gotten intel that someone else was planning on reaching, but on paper, this guy is a 5th round pick.

    • Well, hope they're not worried about a torn Labrum or Rotator Cuff, as someone who went through that myself, I know those don't have anything show up on X-Rays but from the MRI, so this is kinda a nothing update, hope it's not a tear or his season is already over if they decide to do surgery now. Which is basically what would be needed to get him to 100% for the start of next season's training camp if it's a labrum.  If he plays the season with it and then does surgery, he's not going to be ready for camp and probably not the start of the season either.
    • I always try to not pay much attention to a team’s preseason win/loss record. The 1982 Washington and 2021 LA Rams both lost every game in the preseason and went on to win the Super Bowl, whereas the 2008 Detroit Lions and 2017 Cleveland Browns both won every game in reason and went on to lose every regular season game. There’s many examples of teams that lose in preseason that go on to have good seasons, but equally there are teams that lose in preseason and that continues in the regular season. Which will we be?  I think our floor is a handful of wins, while our ceiling will probably be around the 9-10 win mark. The latter will require significant improvement from the whole team and coaching staff, and will also need Bryce to play like the QB we drafted him to be. I want to be optimistic and predict a winning season, but it’s really difficult as a Panthers fan!
    • Cos he looks much better?
