Anybody else think we are putting to much on Bryce's plate?

Not at all. Everything we heard about the kid was that he’s basically a football god in terms of IQ. The coaches aren’t going to see him struggle with the playbook and protections and then be like “ we should add more while he is falling behind! “, they are only going to give him more once they feel he’s up for it. This is a very veteran coaching staff and you have to trust their years of doing this.

Not if he shows he can handle it.  I trust this coaching staff to bring him along at his speed.

What a refreshing thing to say about the Carolina Panthers.  Its been.....quite some time since coaching was an actual asset of this team.

I don’t think so.  We went out and aggressively signed a good RB, a good TE, 2 good WRs, and drafted another WR pretty high.  The team did a good job surrounding him with help.  The OL is already in good shape.

I think the entire offense is being overrated that is around Bryce Young.  Not saying they are trash.  But it's a step back in a lot of ways from what we had around Sam freaking Darnold.

Miles Sanders is a pretty good RB.  A massive step back from CMC.  Miles Sanders belongs in a committee IMO.  He was a pretty good runner behind a great OL.  But some of his more advanced stats seem to show a lot of his success was because of the OL.  He didn't make a ton happen on his own.

and whoever we want to claim is our #1 WR is a massive step back from DJ Moore IMO.

I do like the OL and the way it is progressing.  Which frankly mattes the most.  But the skill position talent is weak for a rookie QB if you are hoping for real success this year.

The staff is setup nicely for a guy like BY.  Reich is a former QB and spent many years in the league as has McCown.  Caldwell is another huge asset that has been around the block.  Add Dalton's perspective to the mix and you have a very good foundation for a QB that resembles a sponge in terms of studying the nuances of the position and offense.  These guys will have a good barometer of how much is too much.  Again, not saying this will be an instant dynasty and he will likely have his share of growing pains, but there is no reason not to be optimistic about the future.

Reich and his guys would know if they were putting too much on him. They know they have too much at stake to break him before he even steps on the field. They can't screw this up. Bryce keeps showing the staff he is the guy they hoped to be drafting. Until that changes, there is no need to do anything different.

don't forget we have hunter henry. might as well throw ian thomas out there just b/c he has experience, although not that great.

you already forgot him lol.

you mean, Hayden Hurst?  I mean, he is a fine TE upgrade.  That's what you want to do, get better.  But we sucked at TE.   We now have an average starting TE.  I'm fine w/ the TE add.  I feel we should of added more at TE to bring that group up though.  Still think we whiffed in the TE heavy draft and should of snagged the UGA freak show.

    • Not sure how much he was a long term piece of this team.   Sucks to not have him as part of the rotation.   Looks like it's Lee Hunter time.
    • This post was an error. Oops and sorry for the errors in the previous one. Too slow to edit.   We’ll see what they do.
    • I am not sure he will put the over the games but we’ll probably have them.   Two things I am thinking.  We have 4 preseason games.  All the coaches have enough service time to know the standards that are in place for decades. If I recall it was play your starters just a series to start woth and build it up until week theee where play a lot and you have week four to set hour roster. Evaluate before cuts.   Bevell will certainly have the whole thing down pat.   I’d they don’t do the fries and frie air will worry too. Because it is set up to do that.     I have said since they went t three preseason people have to figure a new way are still feeling it out and trying things.  We don’t have to this year.
