Who impressed and who sucked - preseason game 1

Hats off to Corral for not quitting the team after having to play behind that very offensive line.

I kept waiting for him to throw a tantrum.

Impressed that Bryce gave a pep talk and friendly pat to Icky after almost getting killed by the rushers her wiffed on.  I swear I think the first hit knocked Bryce cross eyeed and the 2nd hit knocked them back to normal.

Still think we really need a backup RB.

Sucked we played barely half our starters, and no offensive skill players except Young and Hurst. Lacked a bunch of starting defenders too.  Can’t be getting our knickers twisted over a preseason game, especially one that didn’t have the whole starting OL.

Barno looked really good on defense. Young looked good what little we saw of him on offense. One overthrow but the other throws were pretty good, and he looked in command of the offense.

    • Both have had incredibly talented teams that have made it to the playoffs a bunch of years, but have failed to win the big one or even a conference championship. The parallels are there and at what point does ownership get tired of just being happy to be there versus getting over the hump.
    • What is new is a team having trouble getting people to accept interviews. No one foresaw that, I dare say.   A wrinkle not considered when the rule was constructed. Not sure why anyone would resist addressing it.
    • RBA honestly has more bone headed decisions these days than good ones, he is a "players coach" very good at getting guys to play hard for him and keeping them motivated....  but honestly anything that requires a modicum of strategic thinking is out of his depth.    I mean he has a goalie who is a legitimate veniza candidate at this point and he insists on trotting out Freddie ".850%" every other night we would have an insurmountable lead in the metro by now if he gave Bussi all games but b2bs.
