Feels like I see the phrase "former high draft pick from the Patriots cut" a lot these days.

They haven't necessarily drafted particularly well for a while now.

(hence the massive free agent frenzy of a couple years ago that included Cam Newton)

Im pretty sure the Patriots have never been good at drafting... They have been good at signing FAs and Scheming.

Sure it wasn't Kenjon Barner? He even won Superbowls with the Patriots, not that he was very good.

played nine seasons and won three super bowls

He didn’t become Barry sanders but I imagine he’s reasonably happy with the career he had

Keep up with the conversion UNC fanboy. 😁 That's Holton "Mr ECU" Ahlers, one of the largest QBs from the last draft class.

Yes, I am the fanboy who wants the Panthers to sign some out of shape scrub QB from EZU. I’ve never heard of him, but I would be willing to bet my next large, very lucrative paycheck he plays as many regular seasons games the next ten years that you do.

Oh, I doubt he ever plays a down in the NFL regular season as well.

Settle down it was in jest for the most part. Mocking the size bros also.

Yep. I guess he missed out, ignored, or forgot about all the posts that were made leading up to the draft.

Yeah, they've been middle of the pack at drafting. They had a huge competitive advantage during the Belichick/Brady duo era of being able to stockpile vets chasing rings. If you were a proven vet with fug you money already in the bank and truly wanted that SB ring to crown your career, it was by far your #1 destination of choice.

    • Yes, he's a tier above them, but you also touched on the money side of it.  With T-Mac locked in as our #1 on a rookie contract for a few more years, I'd much rather use that money that would be needed for DJ on our defense and develop Coker into our #2.   Especially given his contract situation as an UDFA, as his contract is up at the end of this year but we can keep him around for a 3rd team controlled year on the real cheap.  Which means we probably could get him to sign a very reasonable extension this offseason to give him a little more money while giving us a bargain contract for what he provides. DJ's contract is north of $20 million for the next 5 years, why pay that for your #2 WR with the needs we have on defense and you have guys like Coker, XL, and Horn on rookie contracts who very well could combine to be a serviceable 2-4 WRs behind a stud in T-mac? I love DJ and he'd be a great fit on this team as our #2, but the money side of it just makes absolutely zero sense, that's all it comes down to for me on this one. And no, I don't see the Bears wanting XL back in that trade, because they drafted Burden, who is essentially a better version of what XL provides, a player you want to get the ball into their hands and let them go to work.
    • I didnt see that many bad calls in the panthers cowboys game, but the chiefs especially in the playoffs were getting every single call they could get then the refs when it didnt matter would throw a call towards the other teams.  That I believe was the taylor swift effect.   But its crazy just thinking about how easy it is to change a game.  You dont need but a single ref to make a few close calls go towards one team over the other and in the nfl that is the game.
    • I don't think it's unrealistically blaming Bryce Young......to say has been a reason, sometimes a big one, in why our pass offense overall has been extremely week over the past 3 collective seasons.  I think that bothering anyone, is just being overly invested in some Bryce Young argument.  It's just a reality.
