Trade: Panthers Acquire Ihmir Smith-Marsette from Chiefs

He's on his 4th team but also only 24 and looks like he's developed and added some weight the last few seasons. I really like his potential. We are trying that's all I can ask.

Didn't Justyn Ross really jump off the page and excite them recently? That could've been a deciding factor or part of the process. I remember having a Chiefs preseason game on in the background and their local announcers couldn't say his name enough. I hadn't heard his name since Clemson was an unquestioned juggernaut.

Really seems to be a good blocker.  If you can swap seventh rounders and get a roster player who is a threat on special teams and in some WR sets, that is a huge win.

Ross could be a HUGE steal.   He got injured after dominating that national title game.  He projected as an early first rounder at the time.   Had a big time injury.  Came back for one season but never looked close to being that guy he was.  But he looks to be getting back into his old form now.  So they likely could of picked up early round talent that simply was still recovering from an injury as a UDFA.  

I mean, his CFP playoff run when healthy on the way to that title was as dominate as it gets in the CFP era.  Only Justin Jefferson has had a more dominate playoff run.

He admits that he spent 2 years finding himself, but he feels that he has now arrived--I agree

My point was that the Chiefs are not 'loaded' at receiver, they have guys that are good enough and some guys they feel have enough potential to keep him off the roster. Unless he doesn't play special teams and someone like Justin Watson does, not making the bottom of the Chiefs roster doesn't mean a whole lot. This is a flyer-type move, which is perfectly fine.

Funny story about Chinn, since the new Madden is coming out my son decided to experiment with the Panthers roster on the old version. He moved Chinn to QB, which actually went pretty good for him. Chinn was spinning it pretty good and ran it well. Of course, it also helped that my son made Theilen 7 foot tall with max speed. LOL

If you a football fan I suggest getting NCAA Football 14 revamped. Possibly the greatest football game of all time. Although NFL 2k was ahead of its time.
