What’s really going to be infuriating is if they did and The Fitterer said no.

I can't recall his name ever coming up. I recall it being reported that the Bears wanted Burns, Brown, or Moore which makes sense and it being reported or maybe suggested that we were trying to get them to bite on Chinn.

He will play in 9 games for us this year, and be traded next season to the pats or niners or Steelers for a 3rd round pick and never miss another game for 10 years, and average 8 picks a year and score multiple defensive touchdowns.

Crazy that we all know this is what’s going to happen.

And our next 3 matchups at WR:

New Orleans - Olave / Thomas

Seattle - Metcalf / Lockett / Smith-Njigba

Minnesota - Jefferson

We are screwed.  This secondary is about to be torched.

keep going and you see Detroit and then (gulp) Miami

Who we beating out of those teams?    Seattle on the road?

Fields after a wonky week 1 is 15th in rushing for the whole NFl and 16th in passing yards. Combine the two and he’s 6th in total yards for a QB right now.

Chicagos issues are not Fields.  They are the offensive and defensive lines.  Well their D in general.  They might be in for a long season.

fields was only pressured 4 times against the packers, and was never hit or hurried. His sacks were from him trying to scramble and not getting back to LOS.

Evero needs a scheme to cover for the coverage deficiency.  And Burns better have his best games.

I still have nightmares with Benwikere on Julio or Keith Taylor on Mike Evans last year.

I imagine when they get Jenkins back on the line they won’t have him under pressure on 35 of 42 drop backs or whatever it was. He’s a beast when healthy but he’s often not healthy.

Can't predict injuries but we passed on Micah Parsons, Patrick Surtain, and Rashawn Slater for Horn. Parsons is already on a HoF trajectory and the other two are stud starters. Sheesh man. More CJ Henderson = another loss or two coming our way than normal. He's horrible

Horn is also a stud starter. We hit on the pick. Injury is just injury. Can’t blame anyone for it. poo happens.

Yeah it sucks that other stud starters were picked that have been more fortunate, but I would only care on passing on those if Horn was trash, but dude is an all pro talent. He’s just unlucky, or the added physically of the pro game doesn’t agree with his body. And you don’t know that until you know that.

    • My thing with that is you can’t look at it is a vacuum. Things are symbiotic, if I am using that word right. I know that the playbook is a certain way because of Young’s skill set. Just opening things up to different options would change the whole thing for everybody involved. A whole new equation.    Otherwise to the original idea, Wallace was a bad pick. I thought so last year when he got on the field and really never improved. And can’t think of them right now but I know there are examples of a coach or GM being great at a position but cannot fill it on his team. But Dan, that Wallace evaluation; wtf happened?  But I think the 2025 rookies are looking pretty good if you are grading on a Panther curve. T Mac will make his QB better (I think we see that now). I really hope Zavala isn’t reverting to 2023 form. Because we will be screwed.  Kicker couldn’t make it from what, 57? To me, if your defense is strong and is balling and you punt the ball, I won’t complain. This, today, wasn’t that. Canales is still a young coach and still green.
    • Is Bryce is going to have success at any level as a quarterback in the NFL he has to eliminate his turnovers. This was a very winnable game today without his turnovers.
    • Not the same scheme as 1997 dude
